yeah, but mclouth (their best hitter) was just traded...this is not a deep offensive team

Stop over thinking it. The Pirates is the correct call. Atlanta is a much more public team. While you guys are thinking about it I will be putting it in play with actual money. If you were squares, the Braves would look like a deal. Look I'm gonna say it one more time:

      Pirates+125 HEAVY
      Marlins-125 HEAVY
      A's-130
      Detroit+110

It's neutralized by the fact that the Braves have the WORST slugging % (.218) over the last 3 games in the entire league. The Pirates are hot, the Braves are not. It's really just that simple without doing an ounce of homework

Yeah, but the numbers don't lie Dex. And the numbers say the Pirates are performing better offensively than the Braves even without McClouth. They've averaged 5.5 runs a game since the trade. The Braves have averaged 2.5.

Even though for the record I said a few posts ago that I'd already made the wager.

Neither are the Braves Dex. Granted they are deeper than the Pirates, with or without McLouth...this Braves team has basically 2 dangerous hitters in Chipper and McCann (add in McLouth) now. But McCann and McLouth are both lefties. McCann had the day off today facing the lefty Parra and he will probably play tomorrow. McCann doesn't fare too well against lefties while McLouth bats around .300 I believe. Regardless, this Braves team is too wishy washy and has long droughts without a run, or a hit for that matter. I haven't decided, but the Pirates do look mighty tasty for tomorrow night.

Look further to the right under "other stats". It's on the overall, last 10 and last 5 on covers. I'm not sure where CK gets last 3, but I'm happy with last 5.

Basically if I don't have the WHIP, the power ranking and the slugging % over the last three games on my side, I rarely will take a play. There has to be great early movement for me to take a play where I don't have all three on my side. ERA is overrated, and so is hitting average. I want to know if there are extra base hits going on cuzzin'.

                                                  On to brass taxes:

Detroit doesn't have the WHIP on their side but Galarraga is serviceable and has the better bats backing him. The line will never go back to Pale Hose-132. Forget about it. Might as well play it now while you can still get the Tigers for +110. +115 is gone already. I tried to pounce on it, but the line went to +110 before I could get my bet in. Galarraga is due for a correction. Sitting in the dugout watching Verlander and Porcello he has got to be suckin in some game. He'll hit his spots tomorrow. At the beginning of the year he would have been -110 in this game. The crumbs are a gift.

                                                    Contreas vs Bonderman

                                                    Battle of the Gauze game

Any person who wagers on this game needs their head checked. You are basically making a wager on two guys fresh off the farm facing professional hitting. The Tigers are smacking the ball a little more. I would suggest making a play on the Tigers team total to go over as Contreas wasn't getting mutherf*ckers out when he was healthy. I mean the Pale Hose don't have the numbers to justify a play on their team total.
