What up!
Looks like I'll start this off...
I got just one play today (I know that's kind of unusual) and its a value play...
I take a Road dog (Cincy) that is +140 or bigga if they are a winning team and have won at least 6 of their last ten games when playing a home team that is decent but not lights out and have not been playing well overall over THEIR last 10 games (MIL is 4-6 last 10)

Booked:
Cincinnati +170
Cincinnati -1.5 runs (big plus- line not up yet)

I'm trying to just focus on unders right now, and just one or two a day. Looking over the card, the best one in my view is:

the offenses are just not potent enough on a consistent basis.

chi sox +161----greinke is gonna mess up tonight or the offense wont back him up.

wash/phi over 10.5----moyer and lannan are very hittable

florida ml----volstadt is good enough for the win and getting alot of value here....almost 50/50 on the probabilties.

I like MIL RL as well. I look for the brewers to take the early lead in this game unlike yesterday when the reds led 3-0 and 5-3 before the brewers rallied for the win. The reds are going to miss Votto as they go against the ace of the brewers. Only reason the reds defeated Yovanni earlier this season was because of some timely hitting. THe reds got all their hits (3 hits and 4 walks in 5 innings) in the 2nd and 3rd inning of that game (reds won 7-6) and defeated Yovanni. Yovanni does not give up too many HR's but the reds hit 2 in that game including a grandslam in the 3rd inning. In his other 8 starts, Yovanni had give up only 8 HR's and did not allow multiple HR's. In the other 2 starts against the reds, Yovanni had limited the reds to 10 hits, 6 walks and only 2 runs in 13.2 innings. I thought Yovanni did not have best stuff in that game. Yovanni is too good to lose twice to the reds in the same season. I look for Yovanni to dominate the reds who will be without their best hitter.

Anyway... it is a value play... Reds are supposed to lose... but what you get here is a winning team, a winning team on the road, who is playing better over the last ten games than the big fav...The starter most likely will not go more than 6 and then you got the potential to deal with reliever heartburn.... In the long run the system pays off big as it is big plus and if you hit just 50% of these.. your way on the plus side...
But I see what you mean... If alot of ppl are on them it doesn't bode well for cincy...

Atl/Ari under 9.5 ... 9.5 just too high for these teams. There have been some good writeups on other threads today touting Atl's starter as being better than he appears. With two subpar outings he may be on the verge of a breakout start.

Tex team total over 3.5 ... 3.5? Are you kidding me. So Braden shut 'em down for 5 innings last outing. Texas has pounded Oakland for an average of 8 runs over the last 3 outings, I see no reason that the trend does not continue. Even with a diluted lineup Texas does not deserve a 3.5.

Florida+119 Volstad is the better pitcher and the Mets aren't hitting the ball. Florida has a .444 slugging % over thier las three games compared to the Mets slugging% of .352 over the same time.

Washington/Philly under 10.5 Lannan is a sinker ball pitcher which will help out on the total if he keeps the ball down. Moyer is serviceable and is decent hwen he gets on a roll and has his pitch placement in order. Sorry about that Dexter..

In fact, looking back over the last few years, I couldn't find ONE game (something like 0-12) in which his team won when he was given a -130 or more price tag. And right now I see him listed as -185! Just sayin...

Alright guys I'm gonna drop a college play on you and if you've been paying attention to me you probably know what it will be. Hear me out for a sec though...

SDSU plays UC-Irvine tonight at 7pm EST. Irvine is the #1 team in the nation and I expect them to win. The winner of this game turns right around and plays UVA at 11pm EST. If it is Irvine, being that they are playing on their home field and are higher ranked, I expect this game to be somewhere around a pick. (They already beat Irvine's #2 starter last night 5-0 at +145 odds)

Trust me, UVA should be the heavy favorite no matter which team they face tonight. First off, they are the best team in the region despite rankings (they play in a real conference). Better pitching, better fielding, and better hitting all around and anybody who follows CBB is recognizing the selection committees mistake today. UVA held their regular #2 starter for today's game. This guy Carraway is a SR and has poise and big game experience. His numbers are pedestrian but he retired 16 straight batter during the ACC tourney(which UVA swept 4-0). Whichever team he faces will be playing the 2nd game of a split DH and will be starting most likely a bullpen guy...or a normal spot starter as most teams carry 2-3 regular starters.... since this will be that team's 4th game in 3 days. If this game is anywhere near even money, UVA is a strong play tonight.
