Pit has been getting better and better with each game over the playoffs. This is a differerent team from last year's matchup. 2 things in favor for them tonight, nagging injuries to Detroit and last year's poor performance in the first 2 games in Det, losing both 3-0 and 4-0. This is truly an important game for Pit and they need to make a statment right from the get go and not fall into last year's start. This Pit team looks different from last and more hungrier.Will they will the cup, not sure, but game 1, yes.

OAK, I would need one of those biohaz suits for that ML, I watched the first game last night as I was in action on the game side A's, it was, offensively...well...underwhelming...BOL though. Decided not to play any other games, I'll just ride out DET and then call it a night...

I handicap more for pitching matchups than offense. I like Anderson here over McCarthy. I think McCarthy might be overextended coming into this one. He threw 124 pitches in a CG last time out. 118 pitches the time before. Wouldn't surprise me to see OAK's bats wake up a little bit against him early. And Anderson has been sharp lately. I think OAK is a good value, and I'll just hope to split one of my two remaining plays at + odds to make a profit during the night session.


If I'm lucky enough to get two wins on those games, I'll be adding UVA +145 for 11pm est (ESPNU). They are playing the #1 team in the country tonight - UC Irvine in Irvine. I like their chances with LH Ace and ACC Freshman of the Year Danny Hultzen vs UCI's #2 starter. The hoos got their mojo working right now. Live dog.

I'm sitting at 2-0 for the day and Shoe's Reds pick I'm piggybacking just jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first. This is coming off a 2-0 (posted plays) day yesterday and a 1-0 (bases) the day before. You can tail me or fade me, but don't try to talk me out of my plays right now baby!

wow - great find....do you have an easy place to look up prior pitch counts when analyzing a matchup?

the only way i know how is to just look up old box scores (espn etc) which can be time consuming for each pitcher.
