What a year. When we started the year we immediately started betting dogs because we have done so well with them, year after year. They did great in the pre-season, but we were mostly tracking. The dogs were at over 50% which is always our goal so we were good to go. BOOM!!! Before I knew what hit, the dogs absolutly torched me. My record with the dogs was 61-78. I had bet $13,900 (yeah, betting like we do ain't cheap) and lost a total of $1,554. At that point everyone I knew was just getting their bankrolls blown away betting the dogs. It was then that I thought, F this.
As much as I love betting dogs, I switched to faves that were juiced to see if I could make a buck. Lo and Behold, the seas parted and birds started singing. I was betting to win a unit which was expensive. But the faves started out at 13-1, or something ridiculous like that. To date, the faves have been outstanding. I have bet $10,000 on faves, but they have gone 50-25 so no problem. So, the faves are up $1,740 which totally wiped out the deficit the dogs had created. So after betting a grand total of $23,900 up to now, I'm up a whopping $186, I mean LMAO!!!!!

I'm just telling you guys where I am and how I got here. Betting $23,900 and being up $186 isn't what I was personally looking for, but we aim for transparency in this thread. Also, I point this out to show that sometimes you have to be flexible while betting to a point. If I had immediately switched to the faves I'd be up 25-30 units but such is life.

Well, that's it for now. I'm gonna try to come up with a winner today and finish as strong as possible. That's how this betting works.

Fantastic job this year in mlb guys!
To be up in mlb is truly a good thing I am down 45 units...never imagined I would have such a bad season after thinking I learned some from last season's losses.
After 2.5 years of betting this was my worst season of any sport....did not chase - just lost little by little each week.
Unders were not good this season - hit about 40% if lucky and there is normally juice with Unders.
I have actually won 15 straight bets with taking decent - sized faves at +1.5 for a meager profit of 8 units.

Well, here's the thing. No matter how good you think you are you always get a year like this sooner or later. You just have to grind your way through. It's just variance, but this year everyone got a hell of a lot. The most important thing is you ended the year strong, you found out what worked, you adjusted. That's all you can do. I can tell you learned a lot about baseball, that'll come in handy for next year. Plus, this year ain't over. We plan on winning some cash in the playoffs and series. Hopefully...Then it's hockey.

Took LAD +1.5 tonight at -350...
Sucks to bet $10 only to get $3 or $4 back, but these add up After 16 straight wins. Problem is I lost a bunch of other bets aside from these...
Big weekend as I have a +400 parlay pending on 4 football games...Threw in some mlb plays along the way.

Rolling with the Cards -153. Terrible price. It's just for some weird reason they still are trying to win games, 6-4 in their last 10 and coming off a win. They have a definite pitching advantage, but who knows? Giants also look good. Mets look good, too. Still betting to win a unit.

You're supposed to bet to win a unit on faves, you should be up 16 units here. And if you are 16-0, why in hell are you betting the other games? Just curious.

No way am I laying 3.5 units to win 1....too much risk.
What rule says you need to bet to win 1 unit on faves?
Never heard of that...of course I have only bet for 2.5 years and I've pretty much been flying solo...just figure things out myself.

You are doing great with your betting. There are no rules. The rules always change if there are any. I used to think that juice kills, but that's not true. The Golden Rule is to cash as many tickets as possible, this is just my opinion. We want as many people who come into our thread to win as much $$$$$ as possible. If we had a rule, it'd be that.

I just noticed how much you are betting for these games - this looks like more than just a hobby for you - betting 25K for one season alone is massive!
I bet $10 at most per bet. I think I may have bet $2,500 the whole season. I really hope the best for you guys in the playoffs!
Your plays recently have been winning at a high %, and while I may have agreed, I am not confident betting these teams that have little incentive to win.

I agree with you here, and the Giants had lost two in a row. But they had a definite pitching advantage and I just felt that they didn't want to finish the year losing five games in a row. Every team wants to finish the season with some wins, or at least A win. And, stats don't mean jack at this point. It's dangerous betting on a team that can't make the playoffs, but there are other considerations too. Betting baseball this time of the year is dangerous under the best of circumstances, but it's what we do.

In hindsight, among the last 5 Cold Stone plays you guys have made, this one today with Giants I should have played.
Peavy is a gamer and sure he wanted to end on a high note and Giants seem to be trying hard til the end at least.
These guys are scrappy and they did well for me this season.
