Anyone who has watch Sabathia pitch over his last three or four outings ought to realize it's a huge stretch to make this team a -185 favorite over Lackey. This is one of those plays I'm going to hate.

I hope no one will be offended, I know newbie questions can really hit some sore spots, but can I just confirm that the Yankees are the play today. I've read the entire thread, understand the system, but have just started to look at Covers.com for the odds and not sure if I'm reading it right.

In MLB, you'll very rarely get a favorite that's higher than -325, which, I suspect, is rather commonplace in pro hoops. So how on earth do you figure to play this kind of wager in the NBA? I figured it was not applicable in any other sport except hockey, where the number of one-goal differentials is much higher than in baseball.

. We take the highest favorite on the RL with chasing up to 6.

I assume that OP was just posting a random question in a random thread.
In cusing this type of wagering the only thing that could be checked in NBA is if the top fav covers the spread. You'd likely end up with similar average odds to the top Fav MLB RL chase. Might be something to backtest but I wouldn't hold my breath on it.

I don't think the results would be anywhere near as good as we've found with the ML/RL play we have here, but yeah, I guess it might be interesting to see just what the numbers show on some backtesting.
