I'd be willing to bet you'd find some years that lost units.... but I like the approach.. is there a programmer out there? I have some queries I'd like to see crunched....for example, what percentage of the time does an over 500 team win after two straight losses? regardless of being home or away.... I'd run that for one loss, two losses, and three losses.... I use this approach with winning teams alot... and I haven't had a losing week in 5 weeks..... actually my last 3 weeks were phenomenal... I also like to take the -1.5 run line in these situations... what percentage of games are decided by one run? .... and in games with this prior criteria? I took Angels -1.5 today... Oakland -1.5 today and Baltimore -1.5... I know that these teams had nothing to do with my prior questions... I just hate laying juice on baseball.... its such an "anything can happen" sport.... Love to hear ya'lls thoughts....

To correct you the backtest I ran was for 5 years, not 2 years. All the results and numbers are on the first couple pages. Like you said there will be years that will end up losing and this year may very well be the first losing year in 6 years.

To backtest a system for only teams .500 or above is a daunting task if not impossible. You would have to go through the standings for each day to determine those qualifying teams. I'm not about to do that.

Last year someone ran a chase for the -1.5 RL but it was short-lived but I don't think he's done a backtest though. People give up too easily as soon as they see red.

27.2% of games last 6 years played to a 1-run game.

Any sport can be an 'anything can happen' sport, not just baseball.

Much lower number of teams qualified this year approximately 40 fewer wins at this point than from previous years. Better pitching and lower offense. Pretty sure we'll end up in the red at the end if not worse. Just not enough wins to offset the losses this year. Tail, fade, ignore or whatever you wish to do.

Working on some NFL systems to see what's there. Tried a few on the CFL (which in my opinion is a better league than the NFL) but nothing reliable.

Dumb bastard has finally given up. I told everyone this was a disaster on March 31. It took numb nuts 4 months and 63 lost units to figure it out.
