Not the majors but the Japan leagues are deep. Top pitcher in the league

I really want to, but I'm with tat here. plenty of other opportunities to throw money around later on.

Agree. Ryu is talented enough that he should be able to outperform his opponents until they get better scouting reports. The Giants aren't exactly an offensive powerhouse.

Actually this is no surprise. -105 for both teams is about right. Ryu had a solid spring. He is coming off 4 perfect innings in his last spring training outings. Last 16.2 innings has just given up 3 runs. Also, the batters have never faced him. This could be a play for the under since bumgarner , but 6.5 is pretty low , so probably not a play here. I am a giants fan, but Ryu is a mystery and not sure what to expect from him. He does look like a pretty good pitcher.

Under 6.5 is + 110 at one of my books, could be a good buy, but too early in the season for me to pull the trigger. Bumgarner is also a slow starter.

I got the Over at -120 ( Under was EV) from William Hill around 9:30pm PST. Maybe 7 by gametime? However flat SF looked yesterday, I think some more hitting is in store & Im hoping the Over will be good...

A lot of folks out there are tempted to chase SF today but, as ss7415 noted, batters have never faced him. Also, there is a large Korean population in LA and Ryu will have even more motivation to make his opening day a good one. Will be on the sidelines for this one.

Have you ever been to Dodger Stadium? Yes it's near Korea town, but even when Hideo Nomo and Chan Ho were pitching you didn't see many Asians at baseball games.

Doesn't mean Ryu is not aware of their presence in the city as a whole. Saw his pic on a neighbor's Korean newspaper that's circulated in LA. I think it was front page news. So he knows...

That's your opinion and you're entitled to it. My opinion is that it may play a role in his motivation (in addition to making a good showing in the bigs). My other reasons for staying away from this play include the line as well as the fact that SF will have a target on their backs all season long because they are the defending champs. Furthermore, this is a cross-state rivalry.
