computer program Spring Training 2013 picks

I'll be posting my MLB Spring Training picks in this thread, beginning with Sunday, 3/3/2013. Last year I developed a program that pulls the hitting lineups of every game being played, then calculates various sabremetric stats from it. I'll be making calls based on the data it puts out this year.

OMGRandyJackson, this is actually a program that I worked on during Spring Training last year, so I have a pretty good idea of what I'm doing (hopefully!). Regular season is a completely different program and data pool.

Tailing. Don't know how you're 14-2 but that's amazing for preseason

On the one hand, I spent a lot of time developing my program during spring training last year. When I run it, it literally freezes my computer for up to 10 minutes until it's finished. On the other hand, a 14-2 start definitely means there's some luck in there. Only God can predict at that rate regularly.

One note: Because it took so long for me to get it working, I did not start making picks for myself until March 10th last year. From 3/10/12 to the end of spring training, it only averaged about 2 plays per day. I have made a lot of tweaks since then, but the 4 plays a day average so far this year is more than I thought. I'm interested to see if that will continue.

Yeah, regular season is a totally separate program. What I'm using now is for Spring Training only.

*MARINERS bet canceled due to rain postponement (lucky). But yeah, I would rate that as a "bad start" to a game. Having said that, I did see a team blow an 8 run lead in the 9th inning in Spring Training before, so anything can happen.
