F-ing A. Almagro won 6-4. What a horrible match. Nadal is going to murder him.

Thanks for the action bigdog, I don't think I've honestly wanted someone to win less than Almagro except I had real money on him as well - the guy played so poorly, but so did Ginepri. Might have been one of the crappiest 5 set matches.

Finally! Almagro tried to do everything he could to lose that match, can't believe he pulled it out. I thought he was toast in the 5th set.

Nice pick eagles, good day with shamrock too.

I was expecting it to be played this afternoon, but it got delayed by three hours due to the long match before it (Istomin/Lapentti? Too lazy to check).

Since it's being played tonight, I'm not going to be online when it concludes.

If I lose, I'll pay tomorrow night. cheers

                    DAY 7
                    1. Tomas Berdych +120:
Should be a good one with Gonzalez here. Two guys with tough serves, Gonzo's has been especially blistering as far as aces. 26 in his last match. Both have rarely been broken so far. Surprisingly, Gonzo hasn't gone very deep at both hard court majors outside of his Australian Open Final in 2007. Both have solid records in best of 5 formats, so this one figures to go deep. Just about every stat you can look at for these two is close to even. Berdych has won the last two meetings in the last 12 months, both on hard courts and won a set before Gonzo retired in Cincy in August 2009. With it being a close call, better odds for me.

                    2. Gilles Simon -160: I was looking for a time to fade Simon as I believe he is still not the player he was in 2008, but I can't do it here. Ferrero has to be gassed a little after his miracle 5 set win over Petzschner. The interesting thing here is that this is an almost identical set-up to Wimbledon when these two met. JCF won a 5 setter against Fernando Gonzalez and then rolled Simon in straights. Can he do it again? Sure, but I think the grass surface favored JCF a bit more as Simon has never done a ton on that surface. Simon has barely broken a sweat in his first two matches, picking apart the youngster Bellucci last round. This is the Frenchman's 2nd crack at advancing to the 4th round, last year losing in 5 sets to Del Potro in the 3rd round. With JCF likely to feel some effects of the 5 setter, I think Simon's fresher legs & wall of defense prevail.

                    3. Kim Clijsters -135: Had this one marked as one to take since the draws came out and both Clijsters & Venus did their part by getting here. Clijsters had the one hiccup against Bartoli, but otherwise has absolutely destroyed her opponents at the Open. Venus has gutted it out since the knee problem flared up in the opener. This time though, she'll be facing her toughest opponent and one who is just awesome on hard courts. With Venus having a tough summer on the hard surface after L.A., I think this is Clijsters chance to assert herself as someone who is headed back to the top.

First replies will be taken for SBR Points wagers. Two sets must be complete for men's matches to have action, one for women's. Here's how the points would go:

                    1. I get 12 if Berdych win, you get 10 if Gonzalez wins.
                    2. I get 10 if Simon wins, you get 16 if Ferrero wins.
                    3. I get 10 if Clijsters wins, you get 13 if Venus wins.

ok, I'll take Gonzalez. Risk 12 to win 10.

Gonzalez hasn't beaten Berdych since 2006.

Theres your points eagles. I actually took Cljisters for money because of how she looked compared to Venus so Im not too disappointed. I thought before the tourney began Cljisters might get tripped up by Bartoli, but it was nlot to be so. Nice job

                                  DAY 8
                                  1. Svetlana Kuznetsova -115:
The Kuz has flown under the radar this entire tournament and getting her just above even money at this stage of a major is solid to me. Wozniacki has found her best form ever on hard courts right now, but this is the perverbial brick wall for her at hard court majors thus far. She's never made a QF. There's not much to separate these two on paper, so this should be a 3 setter like their Miami encounter that Kuznetsova won. Kuznetsova should win if for nothing else than it sets up our new American superstar Melanie Oudin with yet another Russian opponent. Chance for the quadrella for Oudin then.

If anyone wants Wozniacki, I'll do it straight up 10 points for 10 points. First reply gets the wager. One set must be complete for action.

I like Stepanek to keep it close against Djokovic.

                                    I'll take Stepanek +5.5.

                                    You take Djokovic -5.5.

5 point or 10 point wager, whichever you prefer. Must go one set for action.

Match scheduled to begin 9 PM EDT.

I will take anyone who is interested.

                                        DAY 9
                                        1. Jo-Wilifred Tsonga -135:
I had Tsonga tapped as the man to take this quarter of the draw when they came out and this is his first real test. Gonzalez has been superb to this point, hardly being broken. I think this one comes down to strategy. If Tsonga tries to hit through Gonzalez or exchange forehand smashes all day, I think Gonzalez will prevail. But, if he's willing to work the points and Gonzalez' backhand to set up his shots at forehand winners, then I think his athleticism can help carry him through. Tie breaks likely will come into play here, both have been solid in that respect - Tsonga has a lot more experience with them this season (48 vs. 20 for Gonzalez). Neither should be overcome by the moment as they've both played in Slam Finals before and seeing either advance will be no surprise here, but I'm siding with Tsonga. Please let this one live up to my expectations! Waiting for a great men's match!

For SBR wagering purposes, first response will be taken. Two sets must be complete for action to stand. I take Tsonga, I get 10 points if he wins. If Gonzalez wins, you get 13.

Shoot I just figured someone would take him because he was the underdog and has a chance.

                                                  Nice hit on Del Potro.

You missed both of the "who will advance farther" props, though.

I wish the final was Del Potro-Djokovic, but we did get a very good match out of the one that came to pass.

Oh yeah, I read the Clijsters one wrong. You did get that one right.

Yeah Serena boned me from having two winners on futures, but getting this one tonight was about as sweet as it gets because it was a long shot.

                                                            Serena boned you?
