I like him to have a big year, I thought this was a nice spot though with him nursing the shoulder to give old dumpster fire a twirl. Had his chance in the 1st set to lock it down, but Janny pretty much did what Janny has done for the last year and a half. His ranking is a complete smoke & mirrors act.

As you’d expect with the opening tournament for these players, there are going to be upsets. In 2014, two seeds dropped their first matches here and the semis saw the #1, #2, #8 and unseeded Hewitt. In 2013, two seeds again dropped their opening matches in Brisbane. The semis featured two unseeded players and the #1 and #5. Going back to 2012, two seeds again bit the dust in their first matches of the season. The semis that year featured the #1, #2, #3 & #8.

Watched Coco last night. I got to say. I don't think she has the footwork or all the shots to be a top 20 player consistently.

Her best asset is the power on her serve & forehand. The serve alone sets her apart from 95% of the WTA that can't serve for shit. She's ranked 38th, so I think she shows about what she is. She'll beat some top 20 players when that serve is popping.

Fukk that first one with someone else's dikk. The 2nd one I think Ag.Rad wins, but these are also who gives a shit matches so the GAF (give a fukk) level is tough. Cornet could grab a set, but if Ag.Rad is locked in then she probably wins fairly comfortably. Tend to think with Martina in her corner, she'll be focused in every match early.
