i'm not HC, but a few general comments can be made in response...

1. there are many MANY ways to skin a cat, sports-betting wise...but MOST of these are unsuccessful long-term...a few weeks/months of results (either good or bad) following whatever method/rule don't mean shit as waves of variance constantly ebb and flow...the ONLY thing that works long-term is focusing on value (that is unit-growth...win%, and waves-of-variance be damned)

2. a considerable amount of flexibility (in terms of the size of the odds/the type(s) of bets/etc.) is afforded one whose primary focus is buying tickets with a perceived win-probability the exceeds that implied by the book odds (the essence of unit-growth)...thus there's plenty of lee-way for exercising different preferences and what "works" for A and A feels comfortable with may be miles different from those for B

3. HC's been at this a while and is a dedicated value-hunter with a good stomach for the sorts of variance swings one must endure in this game...he places a fairly wide variety of types of plays...of the sort that work for him and that he feels comfortable with...your "suggestion" to re-arrange his m.o. to more closely match what seems to work for you is like saying Verlander should pitch more like KingFelix...you must develop your own style of value-hunting and don't cramp HC's style

4. If you're doing great, how about committing to posting your plays (warts and all) for an extended period...and you'll increase your appreciation of just how hard it is to preside over a growing bankroll, at the same time that you fine-tune your own "style"
