    dRavidC's Tennis 2013
Hey Guys! Hope your Christmas break/holiday has been good. After reasonable success with tennis last year, have decided to continue on so here I am!

Just a quick reminder of last year's record:
    Tennis Record 2012: 135 - 105 - 16 | +66.8 units

My 2012 tennis thread - link here

Gonna see if I can better this record. 50 unit gain would make me happy but I'm really hoping to surpass what I have achieved in the past year.

Not sure if I am going to be making any plays at this stage, just want to get a feel of the tennis and seeing how players have adapted/changed since the break. Just really wanted to give everyone the heads up that I will be capping the tennis again.

Good Luck everyone and hope everyone has a good and profitable year!

1st play of the year !!!

        1* Nieminen M/L vs Benneteau

I know everyone has seen this already but here it is again:

"Anyway, the practices could not have gone better, I focused in improving some details in my game and I'm very happy with the way things are now. I honestly feel that I haven't been mentally, physically and game wise in this good shape before. Let's hope it stays that way and I stay healthy." (Nieminen)

Nieminen also has a healthy 5-0 record against Benneteau which shows that the frenchman does have troubles with Nieminen and his game. Now this is still considered pre-season so I can't really come up with a proper analysis of this match. Benneteau is the better player judging from last year's performance but I just think Nieminen is the more mentally prepared player and I think he makes the h2h record 6-0.

              1* Istomin M/L vs Klizan

Both playing their first matches of the year. Istomin is a hard court specialist as opposed to Klizan. Don't really know where the two players are at but at pickem odds essentially, going with Istomin.

              1* Millman vs Ito M/L

Millan has the aussie home court advantage. Ito has a 3-0 h2h record. Taking the better player in this one.

              adding:

              1* Harrison -3 vs Robredo

                                        2* Murray -4 vs Nishikori

Murray always starts slow but brings his "A" game towards the business end of the tournament. Nishikori is "apparently" banged up from his quarter final match. Furthermore, nishikori does not match up well with Murray. He doesn't really have the serve to trouble Murray and banged up or not, I expect Murray to dominate and move on to the final.

                                        2* S. Williams UNDER 18

                                        2* Djokovic UNDER 18.5

haven't had a chance to run the numbers for that match but purely from looking at it now, I think janko UNDER or no play.

I really like bedene +5 guys, he is quite a bit of a fighter and tipsy is not in some superb form atm, so I can see a game for example 6-4 7-5 or bedene could even get a set imo...

2* Gasquet vs Davydenko -2.5 LOSS

Spent a long time thinking about this especially given how often Davydenko loses when everyone thinks he's made a turn. But I thought if there was a time Davy would of failed us, it would have been in the semi against Ferrer. Davy knows the end his near and I think that's motivation enough for him to win against Gasquet who has been solid without being too spectacular. Gasquet's a top 10 player yet he's the underdog against Gasquet? Something tells me the bookies made him favourite for a reason and that it ISN'T an over-reaction from the ferrer game.
