how many threads are there like this? I do see what poster CS said. Is it common place to recieve bonuses for money to be played in poker room? i really havent played alot of online poker, but i would think giving people bonuses would just be asking for them to try to just dump it to someone and get the payout. Looks like just asking for fraudulent activity. Any info would be appreciated.

#37BetOnline tells us that Yalili is part of a chip-dump ring that involved 8 other players. The scam was to move bad money via plastic and withdrawal from the clean account. Yalili deposited $1,000 & received $5,000 back - so he's withdrawn more than he's deposited. As far as we know, no legitimate players were affected so there is nobody to look at refunding but we're asking for a double-confirmation of this.
If Yalili decides that he would like to refute any of this, he can write to BetOnline and CC help@sportsbookreview.com to formally request the hands/player usernames involved.Comment -

#39@Sdotbold - BetOnline is a classic example of everything SBR for years has warned about. They open themselves up to these issue by having very little anti-collusion protection as a well as incompetent risk management department.
The facts - No online poker site is it possible to have two computers on the same internet connection sit at the same table other than BetOnline. Additionally, no other poker network can two players open up two skins from a single computer and sit at the same table accept for BetOnline. You can open an account at say Action Poker and BetOnline fund both and then play two seeds under unique accounts and collude.
A second issue: BetOnline offers a ton of bonuses. So say I arb my bonus with 5Dimes or Pinnalce and it wins at BetOnline. Not wanting to meet rollover and getting the bonus instantly I can just dump poker chips to another client.
The problem here is BetOnline is incompetent with poker issues and when they suspect someone is guilty of suspicious activity they go to their front line defense. This is to call the person a cheat, speak as they've caught them red handed and the player might either a) realizes he is caught and goes away, b) trips ups and says something that can be used against him, c) otherwise confess.
Their software and policies are very inviting to cheats - so much so they are either idiots or this is well conceived. Considering they lack the skills to do full investigations on the accounts, they just confiscate funds and where possible keep the cash (refunding some when they can figure it out is the right thing to do as well as a good cover).
BetOnline however is now in the position that fund confiscation from poker can very likely contribute to a large percentage of their profits.
Meanwhile players who are colluded against stand a far less chance of recovery at BetOnline than they do anywhere else.
BetOnline once reputable is now a rogue online gambling site deriving profits from scammers. These accounts steal from legit account, BetOnlne catches and confiscates it and profits. Meanwhile, there are probably a few non-cheats that get caught in the mix too that have their funds stolen.
There is a lot of danger playing with them because there is no where a player can turn. This isn't the case of playing at a site where if they cheat a player, or there are concerns, problems etc. it will get posted on the SBR news feed and be exposed.. So without reasonable chance SBR assists in any but a small token number of complaints to keep their image, this is VERY high risk gambling site, that it would be wise to avoid.Comment -

#42The problem is that this isn't a pure poker room. Take this simple example. I deposit 1k and get a $200 cash bonus. You deposit $200 take no bonus, we decide to clean the bonus by going to the poker room, we sit at 2/4 me full stack, you half. I proceed to dump the 1200 to you over the course of a few hands. You take a payout. We just cleared the bonus without a rollover. Again, this is a simple example but I'm sure you get the point. The purpose of the rollover is to give the book a COMPLETELY UNFAIR shot at a.your money. b. the bonus itself by dumping you rob them of that chance. Another one, I steal a CC deposit, lose the funds to you and you take the payout. the book becomes a clearing house for fraud.
Being a poker room, and being a sports book with a poker room are different beasts that need to be approached differently by the company.
This was a good post, just fixed one inaccuracy.the juice alone on all games and the rake from the tables give them the fairest of shots at our money.
The rollover is just a cute gimmick created for the purpose of internet gambling which gives any book an added edge on top of the edge they already have.Comment -

Lou,
I do not mean to disrespect you or SBR, but what you said really shocked me after been waiting for 3 weeks. I have some critical points that need to be stated here:
1. You start with "BetOnline tells us...". Of course BetOnline would tell you so. I am wondering if you have ever reviewed a single hand of mine or ever tried to do so?
2. "Yalili is part of a chip-dump ring that involved 8 other players". Wow, quite a scam, isn't it? Are these 8 other players in the same city as mine or nearby? I do not think so. When I played poker there, I clicked the players' seats to see their locations and did not even see a single player from the same state as mine. BetOnline is saying that 9 players around the world somehow know each other and design such a magnificent scam to steal money. Well, I guess this is very likely.
3. "Yalili deposited $1,000 & received $5,000 back - so he's withdrawn more than he's deposited." What does this have to do with anything here? If I WAS NOT involved in the chip-dump, I am entitled to have all of the money in my account; If I WAS involved in the chip-dump, I deserve nothing and I shall not even get back my $1000 deposit. It is just ridiculous that you or BetOnline use this fact to support their decision? This is totally irrelevant.
4. "As far as we know, no legitimate players were affected so there is nobody to look at refunding". I do not know what you are talking about. What am I doing here if not looking at refunding? Of course I did not contact BetOnline by myself to request refunding ever since I filed a complaint here. BTW, I did not know what happened to the balance of my account since it was disabled and BetOnline did not mention it in their corresponding emails.
5. I will email BetOnline and CC you to obtain the hand/player involved. If I finally get those hands, although it would be very difficult that I can expect, I will post them here if it is not against any regulations in this forum.
6. I believe that the points 1, 2, 3, 4 above are convincing, at the same time, I also understand that they are just arguments without the critical evidence. The hand history is everything, and I will get it.
7. For all of you who was cheated by BetOnline: Yes, we are on the weaker side. Yes, we feel helpless sometime, at least for me now. Never, never, never give up!
Anyway, thanks for your help, Lou!Comment -
