I was waiting for a bank to bank to withdrawal of 6K before the shit hit. My remaining balance with Bet247 of a princely sum 50 cents was transferred to TW.

I've been following betting forums since this debacle but have yet to see any solutions as to how we can get any money back. It seems that the Bet247 'withdrawals crowd' have been completely forgotten in all this mess.

I'll get in contact with Boris Rozenvasser as you've suggested and report back. How did you go with Boris??

Its no good contacting Boris at Bet247. He just gave me the old line of 'you have to get in contact with the liquidator'

Doesnt seem like there is much else we can do except wait until the ACT GRC investigation is completed.

I find that response unacceptable.
Bet247 Pty Ltd isn't in liquidation.
How can they simply fob customers off to the liquidator of another company?
I still have my welcome email from Bet247 ... not a single mention of Sports Alive in it.
And I don't ever recall seeing any reference to Sports Alive on Bet247's website.
I was a customer of Bet247 and see no reason not to expect them to pay up.

I agree the response stinks but unfortunately for us, SA were the bookmaker for Bet247 and therefore responsible for implementing and settlling all transactions. This is a legitimate practice as I believe SA even did some stuff for Berfair.

The only positive outcome I can see (which is an extremely long shot) is for the ACT GRC to admit that they have failed in their duty of care and stump up the cash themselves. Alternatively, some sort of legal action against the Directors of SA (fraud, not segregating funds...etc) may return some cash, but this would be a long, drawn out and expensive process.

As it stands, as unsecured creditors, we have no chance of getting any money from the liquidation of SA, as most of OUR money is unaccounted for. I've sent an email to Bent & Cougle (liquidator) asking them to explain how they have determined us to be unsecured creditors. I've likened our situation to deposit holders in the event of a bank failure. Surely, deposit holders would get paid out before creditors. Waiting for a reply.

Given that I have a communication from Bet247 Pty Ltd making no mention at all of their relationship with SA and that I'm certain that there was also nothing to that effect on their website all the time I used them it was Bet247 Pty Ltd I was conducting business with and I continue to hold that entity responsible for the debt. So long as that entity remains afloat (and assuming it has some assets) I shall pursue them.

Unlikely the GRC will admit to its failings but firstly the Ombudsman might find in our favour and if that doesn't get the Government to act there is always a class action.
Far better chance of getting paid that way than wasting the time and money attempting to bring the real culprits to justice. They won't have any money we can touch.

No way. Bank depositors have a government guarantee to rely on.
The liquidator gets paid first.
The employees next.
We certainly have no security so can't possibly rank above those creditors who do.
Had our money been maintained in the segregated account as it should have been, yes that would come to us first as the other creditors had no claims on that money.

You guys I have lost $10 000 with bet247, I have tried every avenue and some, best bet is file a complaint with ASIC about bet247 operating whilst insolvent, enough complaints warrants an investigation according to them !! Also get a copy of your account balance from the liquidator, I have a copy from them just ring and ask

I think Boris is slowly coming round to the idea bet247 cant pull this shit... I encourage everybody to keep the pressure on bet247 by sending them emails as well... boris.rozenvasser@dodo.com Funny how all these bet247 guys work at dodo. The owner of bet247 is Michael Slepoy, he also owns dodo.... In reguards to Boris seeming suprised I can't understand why... bet247 renegged on the deal with TW to honour withdrawals, how could Boris not know this ?

Well, finally some good news. It looks as though Boris has been active and come through for me at least.
Got a call from TW to say they are now prepared to honour my Bet247 balance

Can I just confirm your situation. Did you request a withdrawal (ie, the $3,300) just prior to liquidation, or was it that your Bet247 account balance was not initially transferred over to TW?

No, I hadn't requested a withdrawal.

TW initially refused to take over my balance, saying that his offer to Bet247 customers excluded those who had current or previous accounts with him.

Yep, seems like we're the unlucky few.

I havnt emailed Boris after the conversation I had with him. It seems like Bet247 dont want anything to do with people in our situation. We may as well have had an account with Sports Alive directly because thats the view they seem to be taking.

As you suggested, I have made a complaint to ASIC re: Bet 247 but I'm not getting my hopes up.

I have just rang bet247 and stated I will get legal action, Boris has'nt returned my calls or emails... I just filed a complaint with Vicorian consumer affairs, swindle it is up to me and you to fight this ! Email Boris and state you will take legal action, don't bother with the phone calls. You must believe me bet247 know they are in the wrong thats why they are trying to get rid of us!! Don't except what they say or they have won. I will keep you posted... Make sure you send an email. In all the comotion bet247 is hoping the problem will go away- I have inside info don't ask how....Bet247 renneged on a deal to pay withdrawals with TW

Received an emal from ASIC saying that they have no grounds to investigate BET 247 as they are not insolvent.

The only thing to do now is to wait for the results of the ACT GRC investigation, whic I'm sure will be disappointing.

If they aren't insolvent what's stopping them paying you?
If I were you I'd be taking debt recovery action against Bet247. A letter of demand is the first step followed by a summons.
The GRC investigation is just a joke. They'll simply attempt to absolve themselves of any blame.
Lodge a complaint with the ACT Ombudsman too.

Prevention is better than cure, the ACT grc had the chance to do there job properly and failed the punter badly. Why is all the talk about the liquidator, bent and cougle have no intention of paying out the punters anyhow, even with 14 million..? If bent & cougle track down every punter and pay them in full I will eat shit literally. Bent and cougle to this day could'nt even send a notice email, it's an unfair world people gat used to it !

All I have from Bet247 is my welcome email which contains no reference to Sports Alive.

And in all the time I used them there was never anything on the site which I recall mentioning Sports Alive.

I believe I was led to believe that they were quite separate entities although clearly they offered all the same markets and odds. They did offer different specials and bonuses however.

I see the betoptions website is not in action, the deal they had running with the white label service between sportsalive and bet247 must have hurt them.
