#37I'll be taking a lighter approach to my posting this year but yea I'm still around. I like to read the forum every morning after my workout with a cup of coffee. To me the forum is like reading the wall street journal. It's a great place to keep up with the industry.Comment -

JJ, where are Rebatewagers players funds held?
What protection is there for players deposits?
Would you recommend Rebatewager over a secure Australian book like IASBet, Centrebet or Sportsalive?
PS: All these books accept credit cards, the only requirement for membership is that players live in a free country.Comment -

Really? I never knew that.
But seriously, American players (that don't know better) should be warned that if a book is going to steal from its players there is no better location to do this than Costa Rica.
Guys need to know that Costa Rican based books come with some risk.
For those of us not in the USA I'd recommend using Australian bookmakers if planning on keeping a large balance on deposit.
Aussie books are 100% safe, 100%!Comment -

LEGENDS, in Panama, is a very safe book.............LEGENDS is very underrated here at SBR by the vast majority.Comment -

Pavy, you and I know this but I want others (especially Americans) to know that realistically speaking the Costa Rican based (and other offshore) books come with some risk, there is no "safety net" or system in place to re-imburse players funds should the book go under.
The safest books in the world are based in Europe or Australia, personally I prefer Aussie books, Centrebet would be my book of choice above all others.Comment -

#55Wanted to throw a few lines out there this morning in response to some of the comments in this thread. For those of you that have been following us over the years you can confirm hat we have stuck firm on our business plan. We don't take unnecessary risks. We don't give a way our profits through unrealistic promotions and bonuses and most importantly we have never missed a payout in over three years. As far as our financial stability, we take more risk in our VIP business and action from individuals on one game then most SBR posters will bet in a year. I come from a world where you pay your players on Monday. No processor excuses. No delays. You treat you player's right and everyone is happy at the end of the year.
As far as the CC processing is concerned we have looked at some options but have decided against it. I don't want to get in the business of verification. I don't want a copy of your liscence and utility bill. We have recently implemented person to person echecks and CC deposits through a new vendor and not only reimburse the fees of the deposit but will cover our members cash advance fees as well.
I may be old school but I thought the most important thing to a player was getting paid and last I looked there weren't a lot of book servicing US players paying out faster then us. We are a small shop. Our quota for this year is 200 new members once we hit those numbers we'll shut new memberships down. I've said this from day one we have a model and we follow it. We have a set goal for membership numbers and we'll stick to it. When we hit 500 day to day players we're out and the only way you will get in is by invitation.
So if your looking for up to 50% cash back on your losses, Free guaranteed next day payouts and the best customer service you got the right place. If you want Credit card deposits you got a lot of good books up top.Comment -

#56I tried Rebatewager and found it pointless so I got out. It is clearly not a good place for someone who knows what they are doing. Much better options out there.
On the surface it seems like it might be okay for a player who knows he is going to lose but even then, there are much better places to play where you will lose your money slower.Comment -

#58The safest books in the world are based in Europe or Australia, personally I prefer Aussie books, Centrebet would be my book of choice above all others.
As I 'discussed' with JJ in a PT thread, I have never been limited at an Aussie book despite making very large wagers (and winning some of them), and when I request a payout I receive it into my bank account on the same day if not the next. Of course this may not be the case for those living outside of Australia but I will say that some of these payouts have been quite substantial - lower to lower-mid 5 figure range- and I have never had a problem.
There are many, many, many Non-American posters on SBR and if they haven't already deposited with an Australian book I believe they should at least look into it if they are concerned with the security of their money. Gambling is a highly regulated and lucrative industry for the Australian government - your money will be in no danger if deposited at one of these books.Comment -

#59As a professional player Mudcat I would agree that reduced juice makes sense if you are grinding it out but if your a rec guy sending in $500 to $1,000 a game and go 0 for 5. Nothing better then $1250 to $2500 cash back. I don't care how much you save on the vig because at the end of the day its all about fun and we let you have a lot more fun for a lot less money.Comment -

#60This is not meant to disparage Blackie nor any other book, but I 100% with the part of Plommer's post that I quoted above, although I may debate his ranking of Centrebet #1 but that's purely because the majority of my account turnover is through tennis and I have found better lines/props at other Aussie books.

I understand what you're saying though. I just felt the need to reiterate what Plommer was saying as in my little opinion he is 100% correct and chances are there will be non-US based posters looking at this thread.
The best option is to have a few books at your disposal - as the majority of us understand - and from everything I've seen, Blackie's will definitely be one I use (if he's accepting new customers at that time) once I start to spend more time betting other sports. Chances are I'll lose and the idea of a rebate on those losses is bloody enticing!!Comment -
