    William Hill steals money
my girfriend account is closed with 300EUR saying this: Hi Anica,

We regret to inform you that our security team have confirmed that your account will remain suspended as a result of your gaming habits which the Management has determined to be abusive/fraudulent, in accordance with our website’s Terms of Use which can be found at http://williamhill-lang-sch.custhelp.../std_adp.php?p

there is no evidence of any fraud or somthing like that, first they asked her for documements and certified letter what she has sent and after that they closed her account for no reason with 300eur deposite in there,at least they shoold payout deposite when closing account.this is scam book wich limits players and closing accounts for any reasons also they have bad live help beware.

The rabbit hole must be deeper here. Euro books are paranoid about winners and they are quick to limit. Yet WH is one of the biggest and most prestigious UK books. They tend to keep some pros around and they are getting lot of action. Do they limit easily? Do they steal?

Nenad, I think the reason people are sceptical (myself included) is because WillHill has a good reputation for treating players well, and it operates in highly regulated jurisdictions. It's certainly not a "scam book." Plus the fact that it's you here complaining about her treatment makes it sound worse, ie. less believable that it's not just you running 2 accounts.

I believe that they don't work with SBR, so your best bet would be to encourage your girlfriend to complain to IBAS, and see if she can reach some resolution with them to get her funds back. Here's the form she needs to fill out at IBAS: http://www.ibas-uk.com/adjudicationForm.php

Given that she is not linked to you in any way - not family, not living with you, never accessed her account from your address/computer, you've never accessed your account from her address/computer, you've never played poker against each other, you've never bet on the live casino against each other (to maximise a bonus), you don't both bet on the same lines to bypass limits imposed on either one of your accounts, etc. - the fact that she has a boyfriend who also has an account there is irrelevant and doesn't need mentioning.

IBAS is the mediation service, not the actual regulator. On IBAS' site, they still list WillHill as a regulated license holder. The actual regulator would be the Gambling Commission, as WillHill's registered business address is in London, and they're still listed here: http://www.gamblingcommission.gov.uk...2010-03-19.pdf

I remember reading about them moving their offices overseas - to Gibraltar - for tax purposes, but they're not signed up with eCogra. They're listed as licensees here: http://www.gibraltar.gov.gi/internet-gaming. There's no complaint form, but there is an e-mail address at the bottom of the page.

Perhaps your girlfriend should contact WillHill and ask who the applicable regulator and/or mediator is in these circumstances, as the Gibraltar move only covers part of their operations. Or complain to all 3 (IBAS, UK Gambling Commission, GRA) and see who accepts jurisdiction?

ETA: Sorry I don't know for sure. Perhaps you're right that it's more likely that GRA has jurisdiction, but I could only find reference to the Gambling Commission on WillHill's website Perhaps someone else knows for sure.

I could be wrong - happens a lot - but I thought that they wouldn't disclose details of individuals' accounts and disputes over individuals' accounts other than to a recognised mediator (ie. IBAS, and not SBR) or regulator for privacy (legal) reasons. I've just search the SBR news history and can see various complaints filed over the past several years, but there are no updates/stories suggesting SBR achieved any resolutions on behalf of clients.

So, I guess feel free to complain here too, and see what happens.
