Conference Plays:
Cambridge Utd -0.75 A.H. @ -105 at home to Macclesfield Town;
Cambridge looking to bounce back after an undeserved 2-0 loss at home to League 1 side Sheffield Utd. Cambridge passed the ball very well at times and had 4 decent shouts for hand-balls inside the box - at least 2 of the 4 should of been given so I'm hoping and expecting that the Cambridge players will be pissed and come out fired up tonight! Macclesfield meanwhile scraped through by beating my local team Brackley 3-2 but they made very hard work of it by dropping a 2-0 lead and then having to scrape a winner in final 10 mins. If they defend like they did in that second half against Brackley then I can only see Cambridge winning comfortably.
Grimsby -0.5 @ -111 at home to Welling Utd;
Grimsby are on the other spectrum to Cambridge as they saw off League 2 side Northampton 2-0 at home in the FA Cup at the weekend so confidence is going to be very high. However, this could also lead to complacency and a potential "hang-over" like performance - or as the English saying goes... "After the Lord Mayor's Show"! But with experienced players like Doig, Kerr, and Disley I don't expect complacency to be an issue.
Woking/Kidderminster Over 2.75 goals @ -110;
Woking DNB @ +146 at home to Kidderminster...
The game is being billed by each club as one of the potentially most exciting matches of the season in the Conference based on last season's games where both finished 2-2. Both Managers like to play attacking football and both have strikers in form with Woking's Rendell (13 apps, 6 goals) and Marriot (4 apps, 6 goals); and Kidderminster's Lolley (15 apps, 6 goals), Gash (17 apps, 5 goals), and Malbon (19 apps, 5 goals). Games involving Woking average 2.9 goals per game, and Kidderminster 3 goals per game (6th and 7th highest in league).
I also think there is small potential of the home side getting the upset win as Kidderminster will be without two important midfielders in Storer (18 apps, 5 goals), and Fowler (20 apps). They also have 3 other midfielders who face late fitness tests n Dance (11 apps, 3 goals), Gittings (13 apps , 2 goals) and Tolley (1 app). Additionally, defender Dunkley (12 apps, 2 goals) make also not be fit enough to start, and striker Byrne (13 apps, 1 goal) is injured. So with those issues in midfield, I think Woking have a decent chance of controlling the game as they have some solid experienced midfielders in 33 year old former Brentford and Luton midfielder Adam Newton (18 apps); former Yeovil midfielder Gavin Williams (16 apps, 5 goals) who is also 33 and was playing in League 1 last season; 35 year old Kevin Betsy (21 apps, 4 goals) who has played at League 1 and Championship level throughout his career with teams like Fulham, Barnsley, Wycombe, Bristol City, Southend, and Oldham; and former 29 year old midfielder Anthony McNamee who played for Watford, Norwich, and Swindon. They have also just re-signed Kieran Murtagh on loan from Macclesfield who is a useful player to add more depth to their midfield.

Conte: 'Juve left it too late, but...' By Football Italia staff
Antonio Conte thought it madness to play on that pitch, but admits Juventus“shouldn’t have left it all to the last match.” Their 1-0 defeat to Galatasaray knocked them out of the Champions League. It had started last night, was called off due to snow after 32 minutes and resumed this afternoon with a pitch that seemed to be in even worse condition.
“We certainly tried to have the game postponed and met with the UEFAdelegate beforehand, but nobody wanted to listen. Roberto Mancini said it was dangerous and I agreed with him, I said “I think so.” I don’t think my English is that bad...” Conte told Sky Sport Italia.
“At half-time I reiterated to the referee that it was not safe to play in these conditions. Didier Drogba said it was the same thing for both teams, but I pointed out it wasn’t, because we were trying to play football.
“I have to praise the lads, as they gave their all in a situation where we were enormously penalised, as the game resorted to a football brawl.”
“I will say our mistake was to get to the last game and play everything here. With a decent pitch, I am sure we would’ve played our game. We couldn’t have predicted these circumstances, so in my view our exit is unfair, but we also made life difficult for ourselves.”
The Bianconeri finished the group with just one victory, three draws and two defeats. They didn’t keep a clean sheet, though the Istanbul result was their first without scoring.
They now go into the Europa League and the Final will be played at theJuventus Stadium in Turin.
“We have to dive back into Serie A and the disappointment – and it is a disappointment – has to spur us on domestically. We have another two games before the Christmas break and will then start to think about theEuropa League. We’ll try to do our best, as we wanted to do our best in the Champions League. Are we targeting the Final? You’re more optimistic than I am!
“Last season we had a slow start too and qualified top of the group with three final victories. This time we didn’t manage it.
“Let’s not forget this side rose from the ashes of seventh place twice. We won in Italy two years in a row and didn’t qualify this year because it was our fault, we shouldn’t have left it all to the last match when anything could happen.”
Wesley Sneijder scored the goal with an angled drive set up by Drogba, though Leonardo Bonucci was caught out in defence.
“There were many situations that needed to be corrected in that move. We shouldn’t have been three against three, as Kwadwo Asamoah or StephanLichtsteiner could’ve come back or Paul Pogba not allowed Sneijder to go on the counter. It’s always danger when there is a three against three and I told the team at half-time it was crucial to have an extra man.
“In the entire second half we had to attack on the side of the pitch that was impossible, whereas Galatasaray’s end was better.”
Conte became increasingly angry when pressed on how much the field had affected Juve’s chances of qualification.
“We are talking about a game played on a mudslide. There’s no ‘also’ when it comes to discussing the turf. It was everything. What made me angry was yesterday the referee suspended play because it was ‘dangerous’ and all of a sudden today it was no longer ‘dangerous.’ Maybe I need to improve my English, as the officials don’t seem to understand me very well.
“The only way of playing today was to kick it upfield and hope for the best. That is really not the sort of football we are accustomed to and it showed.”

Tough loss today. However, they are still favorites to win Europa League. Anything except winning EL, would be a huge surprise. They are going Chelsea's way from last season.

Hey Vaugh how you liking Atletico today? Looking at their squad chosen they aren't likely to put the b-squad on the pitch again, 4 straight home games for Atletico now aswell so no travel for them at all before xmas. And the only 'difficult' on paper matchup for them is Valencia possibly the other is the Copa del Rey rematch + Levante

2 wins, 2 losses.
Well I did mention the "After the Lord Mayor's Show" theory and it seemed to be a factor last night! Both Kidderminster and Grimsby pulled off upset wins in FA Cup against Football League opposition at the weekend, and then go and put in very flat and lethargic performances in the Conference a couple days later! Grimsby were quite unlucky though - they hit the woodwork twice before finally equalizing in injury time, and the goal they conceded was a worldy by Joe Healy for Welling...
Kidderminster's poor performance meant that the Over 2.75 didnt come close to hitting, but I did hit the under-dog in Woking who ended up continuing their excellent run winning 1-0.
Cambridge bounced back from their FA Cup loss to Sheffield Utd by crushing Macclesfield 3-0.

If you ask me I think the EL will do Juve a lot of good, the team and coach alike lacks experience in european knock out competition, at least in the EL they ought to gain experience from it, they would be foolish to dismiss the competition even if it lacks the glam of the CL

I have the DNB in a double with Swansea DNB from their shitty game the other night! I just find it hard to imagine Atletico losing to anybody at home at the moment, especially against a side like Porto who have been poor recently and struggled to score goals. The drew at Zenit, at home to Austria Vienna, then drew against Nacional de Madeira, and lost at Academica!
Courtouis and JuanFran are unavailable though I believe, and Godin, Filipe, Arda Turan, and David Villa unlikely to start. Manquillo at RB, Alderwiereld at CB, and Oliver Torres and Adrian replacing Turan and Villa. Still a solid team. I might make a live bet on it if Atletico are dominating as usual at home and if Porto look flat which often happens when they are away from home and even at home recently. I think Simeone's main focus is clearly on the Valencia game this wknd - will betting on that for sure me thinks!

Small play on Arsenal DNB @ Evens away at Napoli...
Pepe Reina out so Rafael starts in goal. Big game for him to come in to, plus Hamsik is still not back. Never like betting against Napoli at home but likes of Sassuolo, Parma, and Udinese have shown that you can get something from there, and Arsenal went to hostile Dortmund and got the win so dont see why they cant get at least a draw here against a Napoli side that have a very average defence, and rather slow and static central midfield with Gokhan Inler and Dzemaili/Behrami.
