#1192Cant resist playing Arsenal -1 A.H. @ -111...
Allardyce isnt starting Matt Jarvis, Joe Cole, or Diame by the looks of it. Maiga is at African Nations and Carrol is still injured. As bad as Arsenal are defensively at times even the likes of donkey Mertesacker should be able to deal with Carlton Cole and Vaz Te. And in defense West Ham on paper at least have one of the least impressive back-lines in the league with Demel, O'Brien, Reid, and Tompkins. West Ham also aren't the best away from home - they got whooped 3-0 by Sunderland last time they were away from Upton Park. Only concern is the physical advantages that West Ham have and Arsenal have Ramsay starting who is just not good enough for Arsenal and could be the weak link. Hopefully Arsenal's technical abilities outweigh West Ham's physical strengths tonight in a game that really is must win for Arsenal.Comment -

#1208ha yeah, ball boys were wasting time as much as they could!
This kid's twitter is blowing up, looks like he's one of the head ballboys (not the kid who Hazard kicked I dont think) and he tweeted earlier about how he'd been brought back to make sure the ballboys knew how to time waste!!

#1215Two plays for the weekend/early next week:
Nice PK @ -141 at home to Bordeaux...
Nice are in good form at home winning 6 on the bounce in the league and unbeaten in 10 home fixtures. Bordeaux meanwhile have just lost top-scorer Gouffran (20 apps, 8 goals) to Newcastle so shouldn't be as big of a goal-scoring threat as they have been this season;
Newcastle PK @ +108 away at Aston Villa...
Potentially a play you look back on and think why oh why as Newcastle have been poor this season, especially away from home where they have failed to win a game. However, Aston Villa have been just as bad and possibly even worse and coming off the embarrassing League Cup exit to League 2 side Bradford now have to face Millwall away from home in the FA Cup which will undoubtedly be another very physical and tough game for them. They will then get just three days rest before playing a Newcastle side that slowly have key players returning from injury and have a number of new signings that will be keen to impress on their debuts. Newcastle already had 6 French players in their squad (Cabaye, Ben Arfa, Debuchy, Amalfitano, Marveux, and Obertan) and have now added another four in Centre-Back Yanga-MBiwa from Montpellier; left-wing back Haidara from Nancy, centre-midfielder Moussa Sissoko from Toulouse; and the aforementioned Yohann Gouffran from Bordeaux. All four were top players for their respective clubs in France and have the potential to come in and be big players for Newcastle straight away. Obviously they will need time to settle and adjust and no doubt a couple will probably flop, but you couldn't ask for a more potentially winnable game to introduce these players to than Aston Villa (except if it was at home!). I think Newcastle have got a great chance to get their first away win of the season next Tuesday, and could lead to Paul Lambert getting the sack depending on how Villa get on against Millwall tomorrow.Comment -

#1216Also added:
PSV -1 Asian Handicap @ +104 away at Hercules...
PSV are coming off a shock 3-1 loss to Zwolle and really need to bounce back with a win to stay in the mix with Ajax and Twente. You can look at this two ways I guess...PSV's morale will be down and they will struggle to get a win on Heracles artificial turf where the home side have only lost once this season, or PSV will bounce back knowing that they need to up their game and will go out and win comfortably. I lean towards the latter, I'd actually be more concerned if PSV had of thrashed Zwolle last weekend as they might of gone in to this game complacent and been too casual. But now that they are coming off an embarrassing loss to a bottom 3 side they will realise that they need to increase their work-rate as their natural talent alone isn't enough. The head-to-head record between these two teams is 2 draws (both at Hercules), and 14 wins for PSV with no wins for Hercules. PSV have won 5 out of last 6 games on Hercules' home turf.
However, regardless of records and form my main reason for playing this is because Heracles have lost two key players this week. Their best central midfielder and vice-Captain Willie Overtoom (18 apps, 5 goals, 10 assists) has joined AZ, and their top-scorer Samuel Armenteros (18 apps, 9 goals, 4 assists) has left for Anderlecht. If these two were still at Heracles I certainly wouldnt be playing this but without them I find it hard imagining Heracles scoring the amount of goals that they have been at home this season. Those two combined have contributed in some way to more than 50% of the goals scored for Heracles so undoubtedly are going to be big losses.
PSV may have lost last weekend but how often does this happen!...
Wolfsburg PK @ +132 away at Hannover 96...
I had a bet on Hannover +1 last weekend when they were away at Schalke and frankly both team were abysmal defensively. Hannover have brought in Johan Djorrou from Arsenal who has always been very over-rated and can be a liability at times. Wolfsburg meanwhile have found some form and have been better away from home this season winning 4 games on their travels. Hannover will also be without key midfielder Sergio Pinto who is suspended. He was one of the few players that impressed me last weekend and I think he could be a big loss for Hannover in this game.Comment -

#1217Added Nigeria PK @ -181 against Zambia. Viktor Moses should play after missing the Burkino Faso game so will be a big boost. Zambia struggled against Ethiopia even though they were against 10 men and Ethiopia missed a penalty. They are the defending Champs though so won't be a walk-over, but I'd be very surprised if Nigeria lost this, even with their questionable defence.Comment -

#1220Added Lyon PK @ -143 away at Valenciennes....
Valenciennes are very hard to beat on their own turf with their only loss being to PSG. I bet on Nice PK last weekend as Valenciennes had a lot of important players out and things are still the same today. January has not been kind to them as key player and top-scorer Kadir (18 apps, 6 goals, 4 assists) left to join Marseille, and they have the likes of Angoua (9 apps), Mater (16 apps), Sanchez (14 apps, 2 goals), Danic (17 apps, 2 goals, 6 assists), and Pujol (13 apps, 5 goals) all out due to injuries/suspensions. Lyon haven't looked very good recently and haven't got a great track record when playing away at Valenciennes but with all these absentees they should be able to get at least a draw if not eek out a win which they really need after only getting a point last week against Evian.Comment -

#1222Only just seen this! 2-0 currently going in to half-time so I'd say no you aren't! But had I seen this before the game I'd of probably said safer to go with Lyon -1 A.H. at better odds as if there was going to be goals it would be Lyon scoring them. And the -1 would cover you if Lyon win 1-0 or 2-0. Maybe Valenciennes will come out in second half and score 1 or 2 and prove me wrong, but Lyon should be able to take this 3-0 or 3-1 now.Comment -
