Im just wondering at 115 minute Holland has a free kick, the ball hits a spanish player, its should be a corner kick for Holland but Webb did not call it, if he makes the right call here do u think Spain would still score the winning goal a minute later?

He did a great job. He should have gave Netherlands at least 2-3 reds just for arguing alone. The guy knew how to shut them up with intimadation. The strongest ref I seen the NFL ref must be jealous haha

can't agree more. if you want to state "stupid"/"genius" reasoning like "if there is no corner, there is no goal" and other "if this, than that", i will say "if zidane got red card for headbutt, de jong seriously need to get red card for real kick at alonso and some of netherland players also need to get red card for EXCESSIVE late challenge on spanish players in the first half". So if this is the case, do you really think netherland with less than 10 players can even last for 90 minutes?

overall, imo for analysis of the game, webb did his best. Netherland know the only way to disturb flow of Spain play style, is playing hard tackle, just like when clubs want to frustate barcelona. How many hard tackles that Netherland gave out? This make the match so tense that the usual controversy about referee will arise.

And, yes, what a loser you are to blame referee after your own loss. Who tell you to back Netherland? If you watch enough World Cup grand finale matches or Champion League Finals matches or other major final matches, you will know the winner is Spain for very huge probability (>90%) and Netherland to win (<10%) is very huge UPSET. I wont say "the loser" word though if you just respect Spain for being the best team in the world and better team than Netherland in that game. I'm not their supporter (England, btw), but a fact is a fact.

actually my post is more for TS COOGI or other losers that try to say Webb fixing the match by betting or other stupid things. As I point out, so many fouls and it's always difficult to do a good job, even best referees since they need to be at their best. So, I kind of agree that he may not do a good job, but match-fixing?? C'mon, man!! This will be a greater humiliation to FIFA than Maradona "hand of god" goal

I would dare anyone to go out there and try to officiate their local high school game. Now I know refs like him are supposed to have more experience but the game happens so fast and I thought he did the best he could since Netherlands was basically hacking everyone and you dont want to ruin a WC final with a red in the first half.. did he miss the deflection on the corner, yes, rather strange, but he also got a lot of things right. It is damn near impossible to watch tackles as they happen and then follow the ball to see if you should play advantage blah blah blah.
