Man Utd - Chelsea (Rooney out, lines not moved yet)
Rooney is missing the game 100% sure because of his ankle. United is still priced as a favorite.

I know everyone is thinking CL right now, but United just played a tough CL match yesterday and are missing Rooney for the weekend vs Chelsea. Chelsea are 100% concentrated on the league and are coming off of a 7-1 win vs Aston Villa + have more rest/preperation for this game.

My book has Chelsea ML at 2.7. I put a unit on it for now before it goes down, GL and feel free to discuss.

Good find. I'll play Chelsea. Expekt has it at 2.8.

I'm just searching for games the public/books aren't really thinking of right now. After I'm done, I'll just sit back and enjoy the Barca - Arsenal, GL.

Odds were around 3.25. Don't think it will drop much further.

obviously United are favorites at home we all know that you don't need to remind us, they were favorites vs Bayern too.

the point is Rooney is out, and Chelsea have more rest after a big win. draw isn't bad either, but I'll wait closer to the game for any more bets.

Okay, I'll try to be objectionable here. Reason why the line won't drop much:
                1) Match is at Old Trafford. 8 staight wins. 3-1-0 vs Chelsea since 2005 at OT.
                2) Chelsea haven't exactly been dominant away from Stamford Bridge. Yes, they did throttle lowly Pompey last week, but if you look at their last 5 or 6 away, they have draws against Blackburn, Hull and Brum. Even without Rooney, United would be rated higher than any of these clubs and none of them have a striker even close to Berbatov's ability. (Sandwiched between those draws were a loss to the Toffees, a tight win against the Clarets and a win against the Wolves). Not exactly an impressive road form as of late.
                3) Chelsea's back line is hampered by injuries. Ivanovic has been their best defender all year and is out, Carvalho, Boswinga and Cole out. That leaves Ferreira at right back and Terry has been absolutely dire.
                4) If you watched the first match between the two clubs at Stamford Bridge, United were unfortunate not to get anything from that game as we outplayed them for much of the match and Rooney was not even a factor. That and the fact that United were in an injury crises of their own to their back 4 when we had to play O'Shea, Brown and Evans in the back. Essien was one of their better players that match and he's obviously out.
                5) Mike Dean will be the ref; He hates Chelsea.

Not saying that United will win and I would have Chelsea as slight favourites, but I wouldn't jump all over on Chelsea just because Rooney is out. Yes Chelsea are rested but wouldn't say United's players exerted too much at Munich...all they did was run around like chickens with their heads cut off and Fergie let them know it. For United to have any chance, think the one they need to neutralise is Malouda especially if Neville starts at right back.

                good luck

United will win without Rooney and show why they've won the title so many times. Chelsea sucks on the road, it's why they will not win the title this year either.

I'm aware of Chelsea's slump. But they have been a totally different team after the Inter loss. Everyone thought they would have lost their confidence, but they did the exact opposite. I think this is the best chance Chelsea have ever gotten to beat United. I'm gambling here because the odds don't represent the situation IMO, I've NEVER bet against United at Old Trafford because I know how lucky they get even against teams who are outplaying them, but there is a first for everything.

                            Its a bullshit
                            United remaining games:
                            Man United (h) - Chelsea
                            Blackburn - Man United (a)
Man City - Man United (a)
                            Man United - Tottenham (h)
                            Sunderland - Man United (a)
Man United - Stoke City (h)

Apart from Chelsea game I can see United scoring and wininig without Rooney (derby is gonna be tough), everyone can score in that team but Van der Saar

                            Chelsea remaining games:
                            Man United - Chelsea (a)
                            Chelsea (h) - Bolton
                            Tottenham - Chelsea (a)
                            Chelsea (h) - Stoke
                            Liverpool - Chelsea (a)
                            Chelsea (h) - Wigan

3 tough games (United, Tottenham, Liverpool)

                            We`ll see

I wouldnt be so sure about Chelsea winning the title

Away from the Bridge......Completely different? After the Inter loss, Chelsea drew their next match at Ewood Park? They drubbed Porstmouth at Fratton Park but you can't take too much from that game considering Pompey's sorry circumstances so to say they are completely changed, at least away from the Bridge, I'm not convinced yet. But, yes, I would agree this could be Chelsea's best chance to get a result at Old Trafford, but it won't be cake walk as some are suggesting just because Rooney is out.

Tough spot to face Chelsea here. The classic sandwich game between CL ties. Rooney out is not going to help matters. Fergie will need to pull some of his magic at Old Trafford.

Man U are most dangerous when written off and at Old Trafford they are a different team, the atmosphere in big matches is something else, when the stadium is packed for big games like this the momentum and luck somehow ends up in their favor.

Chelsea have a good chance but fading Manchester at home is dangerous.

pretty funny....had a good laugh! It's okay though, we've got Mike Dean reffing this one...should even things out. Heard he just picked up keys to a new Bentley the other day Could've of been worse for Chelsea....had Howard Webb, our #1 supporter, been in charge.

I just came in to post about that.

United aren't a one man team. They have Rooney, and then the ref. Lines haven't moved because Mike Dean is officiating this game.

On a serious note concerning the ref, I believe Mike Dean is reffing this game. Don't expect him to favor Man U. He is one of the few ref's that have given Sir Alex a touch line ban. Plus Dean had an iffy match last week with Burnley/Blackburn, giving a questionable penalty kick. Don't expect any favor toward Man U, even at Old Trafford. He should call this one right up the middle, and imo, if anything, lean Chelsea.

The touchline ban didn't affect the game....if you recall our victory over Chelsea in 2007 at OT, he sent off Mikel and awarded us a penalty...they had no chance that game with him in charge.
The bloke made Lampard take a penalty 3 times at West Ham before he finally said, 'ok', I guess you're not going to miss.
Sent off Belletti and Ballack against City....some soft calls there.
Not the greatest referee at the moment who always seems to find himself in the middle of a controversial call that drastically affects the outcome...(just look what happened at Turf Moor last weekend...obvious dive)

In 35 games: 124 yellows/7 reds..sending off a player in 4 straight matches...Ok, he many not play favourite tomorrow, but he'll likely make a bone-headed decision.

                                                          Man U - Chelsea. I have placed a bet on the over @ 2.16. I don't think
the under is worth it. Chelsea is too strong for United to keep them from scoring.
                                                          Final score 2-1 or 1-2 :-)
