            Manchester City – Stoke City
            over 2.75 @ 1.96

My first prediction from today is from the match between Manchester City and Stoke City. This will be the first match of Roberto Mancini as City’s coach, after the chairmen of the team deceided to fire Mark Hughes. The italian was their best solution, after being turned down by some other managers.
Man City is currently fighting for the 4th place, the last one that allows a team to qualify for the Uefa Champions League play-off for the 2010-2011 seasson. City is now 6th, 6 points behind Aston Vill, but one match less than the Birmingham team. Their last match was a really insane one, also on City of Manchester Stadium : 4-3 against Sunderland. Despite the victory Mark Hughes gor sacked one or two days after the match, as the team was considered to not be as on graphic as planned for this time of the seasson.
Stoke, their today’s opponents should be pleased with their so far overall results. Stoke is 11th, having 21 points in 17 matches, 5 points away from the “swamp” zone, the 18th place, 1st place that doesn’t allow a team to continue for the next season in Premiership (and surviving this season is one of their objectives). Stoke isn’t in their best form, having 4 matches without victory in Premiership. Their last victory was more than one month ago, 1-0 with Portsmouth, on the 22nd of November.
I don’t see another outcome in this match than a City’s victory, but I do see Stoke scoring one time, at least, so my bet, over 2.75 should be another natural outcome for this match.

              Liverpool - Wolves
              Liverpool -1.5 @ 1.813/ over 2.75 @ 1.83

After missing the title in the last matches of the 2008-2009 season, Liverpool is far, very far from where they were one years ago on Boxing Day. On the 26th of December 2008, Liverpool was 1st and was winning 5-0 on St. James's Park against Newcastle. Now, only 1 year after, Liverpool is only 8th, and have absolutely no chance to win the title, altough they won 2-0 against Manchester United. Liverpool is in danger not only because they'll miss the title, but also because they have all the chances to finish outside the 1st four places, and break the "big four" for the first time in about 6 years of domination. Liverpool has very difficult away matches in the second part of the season, especially against top teams, like Manchester United, Aston Villa, Arsenal, Manchester City. Except for the match against Man Utd, Liverpool hasn't won any of the matches played against the teams mentioned : 1-3 with Aston Villa, 2-2 with Man City, 1-2 against Arsenal.
But Liverpool is by definition a fighters team, Steven Gerrard is the football symbol for never giving up, and always believe that nothing is too hard to achieve. Today, they receive, on Anfield Road, in this very special round, the visit of a very modest road team, Wolves. Wolves is decently situated, 12th, but they are not saved from relegation by any means necesary, as they are only 3 points away from Bolton, the first team that relegates if this would be the final table configuration.
I like both liverpool -1.5 and over 2.75 because i firmly believe that Liverpool will finally manage to make a perfect match after a long long time, and will score about 4 goals against this low quality team, that has lost clearly all the matches against team from what we still reffer to as "big Four" : 3-0 vs Man Utd, 4-0 vs Chelsea and 4-1 vs Arsenal.

A very important news, very recent actually, from the Romanian league : Dan Petrescu, the coach that made the miracle from Urziceni, winning the title last year, and leading his team to a 8 points record in uefa Champions League groups, deceided to resign from his agreement with Unirea Urziceni. The reason he invoked was that the chairman couldn't assure him that he will have the same squad in the second part of the season plus the purchase of 3-5 useful players.
Dan Petrescu's decision surprised people and not quite. He has said many times that there's a conspiracy against his team, from the Central Comision of Refferes, anc accused many times that if the refferees continue disadvantage his team, he would leave the romanian championship. However, no one actually believed that he will resign now, just before facing the great Liverpool in Uefa Europa League.

Dan Petrescu was the coach of Unirea Urziceni for 3 years, a very rare thing, from the point of view of lenght in Romania : in the first one, he finished 10th, inthe second one 5th, and in the 3rd season, he won the title. Also, in 2008, Unirea Urziceni played their first Romanian Cup final from their short history. Dan Petrescu won the title of "Coach of the Year 2009" from both major romanian sport newspappers, leaving Mircea Lucescu, the Shaktior Donetk coach, winner of the last Uefa Cup final in may 2009 on the second place. Dan Petrescu, thank you for building such a fantastic team !
In the next days, I will come back with more infomation about Unirea Urziceni, their new coach, and eventually Dan Petrescu, if he signs a new agreement with another team.

                                    Arsenal - Aston Villa
                                    Arsenal ML @ 1.75

Two tough matches today in Premier League, the first one is between two of the best teams, Arsenal and Aston Villa, from the 3rd and 4th places. Last year, Aston Villa played against Arsenal on Villa Park on Boxing Day. now they play they day after, and the situation is somehow similar to the one from the last season, only that then, Villa was 4th, and Arsenal 5th.
Aston Villa's objetctive, qualifying in Uefa Champions League, is clearly the only thing that matters for them this season. Villa has sacrificed the Europa League, being eliminated in the play-off by Rapid Wien, and focused hard on the internal competition. Villa comes to Emirates after 4 consecutive victories : 3-0 with Hull, 1-0 @ Man Utd, 2-0 @ Sunderland and 1-0 with Stoke. Impressive form for the Birmingham team, a real nightmare for top teams this year, as they won 3-1 on Anfield, 2-1 home with Chelsea, and, as mentioned before, 1-0 away, with Manchester united.

Arsenal is 3rd due to their matches against small and medium teams, as they've lost to Chelsea, Manchester united or Manchester City. However, Arsenal is not a sure victim in such matches, as they've won, for instance against liverpool, away, 2-1, and 3-0, with Tottenham at home. Aston Villa is a big name, but let's not forget a very important part of the equation ; Arsenal has the big advantage of the home court in this match. Arsenal, at home, has an impressive line, of 7 victories, and 1 defeat (no draws), while Villa didn't play fantastic on road : 4 victories, 3 draws and 2 defeats. I really think this advantage will be decesive for the Gunners and they will win.

i think abonglahor and young or milner (whoever is on the left wing) will expose that side of the arsenal defence as clichy is out..could be a big problem..also no van persie so there is a lot of there strike force gone this game could easily go either way but best of luck

Solid victory for the gunners. Looked like a pretty even game until Fabregas came on. Nothing like being the man of the match and only being on for 28 minutes. Villa's a good team, but no way they're gonna stop those first two goals.

Things are getting so much interesting in Premiership, after the last round. Tottenham and Chelsea are the teams that aren't happy after the results : they've both lost 2 important points, after ending 0-0 with Birmingham (Chelsea), and 0-0 with Fulham (Tottenham). As a result, Chelsea is now only 2 points ahead of Man Utd, and has other reasons to worry, as Arsenal plays better and better and looks like a serious challenger for the Blues to win the title.
Tottenham is 5th, and might lose this place as Man City is only 2 points behind, but has one match less, so in case of a victory in that match, City would go 1 point in front of Spurs. Today, Tottenham plays a local derby against a hungry for points team, Wes Ham United. Tottenham, 5th as I've said, has the 4th attack in the league, scoring 40 goals so far. Their defense isn't the best one, as they've allowed 22 goals, more than 1 per match. West Ham has a good attack, also, thr 7th, scoring 28 goals, but their problem is clearly their defense, that allowed 35 goals, almost 2 goals per match. Tottenham average 3.26 goals/match, while their opponents average 3.31 goals/match. So, today, it's a match between two teams that are likely to produce spectacular matches. The best example is Tottenham Hotspurs, winner a few rounds ago over Wigan Athletic with an outstanding 9-1 score.
I think that Tottenham wins today, but I'm sure that, just like in the match with Chelsea, West Ham will be strong enough to fight heavily and they have many chances to score.

Another London derby today, between Chelsea and Fulham, played at Stanford Bridge, Chelsea's home. The leader from Premiership, Chelsea began to lose pace lately, and it's not a good sign, as Man Utd came closer to them, yesterday, after winning 3-1 at Hull City. Chelsea, instead of taking advantage of Man Utd latest defeats, from the matches agaist Fulham (0-3) and Aston Villa (0-1) has finished 3 of their last 4 matches tie, so the difference between them and Man utd is the same as 4 rounds ago, 2 points. However, lately, Chelsea has another title rival, Arsenal. The Gunners, altough everyone expected to colapse after the injury of Robbie van Persie, began to play better and better, and their latest result is absolutely eloquent in this discussion : 3-0 against one of the top teams of the championship, Aston Villa (this way, Arsenal stoped Villa to become the first team after 14 years to win all the 4 matches against teams from Big Four in a single season). Chelsea is 4 points clear from Arsenal, but the gunners have a match less, and, in case of a win, they would be only 1 point behind the blues, on the second position.
Therefore, this match, like all the matches from now on, is vital for Lampard, Terry, Drogba & co. Chelsea can't afford to make another wrong step, as the race tittle is getting hotter and hotter, and, mainly, it now involves 3 teams. On their own arena, Chelsea has gone almost perfectly, except for their latest match, 3-3 with Everton. They have played 9 matches at home, winning 8 of them. Also, they have an impressive +20 goal difference, scoring 25 goals, and conceading only 5. Fulham, on the other hand, are where they are due to the evolutions from their arena, Craven Cottage. Away, Fulham has only won a single match, drew 4 times, and lost 3 times.
I don't see Fulham standing before Chelsea, and I'm confident in a clear victory of the Blues
