I like MAN U to Win but don't like the odds and Mourinho could spring a suprise, I doubt it but he has a good record against Fergy. I'm going to wait and see how the game starts, if its like the Liverpool game yesterday and MAN U start off on fire I'm going to pound them, player for player and as a team Man U are far better.

Barcelona havn't been playing well enough to deserve such bad odds, Lyon are being really underestimated, saying that Barcelona ofcourse on a good day have the potential to annihalate Lyon but if they play anything like they have recently Lyon has an "outside" chance.

You could try your luck with the draw but I personally wouldn't put anything big on it, Barca should win but arn't as big a favourite as everyone seems to think.

The early games

UEFA Cup - Hamburg vs Galatasaray: Galatasaray +0.5 +140 (Lean - Galatasary Win +400 but its a game time decision)

Galatasary are being underestimated, actually nearly every away team today is being badly underated today. Galatasaray are in inspired form right now, their new manager was a legend at the club in his playing days and won the UEFA cup and Super Cup with them while he was there. Hamburg have recently took a dip in form, lost a few games and dropped from 1st to 5th in the Bundesliga. Ho wever, their cup form has been brilliant but so has Galatasaray's who beat Herta Berlin and Benfica away.

Hamburg are missing some key defenders, so are Galatasaray, this could end up a goal fest as both teams strong points are attack and weak points defense. However, both teams know this so could play it a little cautious.

A difficult one to call but I'm riding with Galatasaray.

CSKA Moscow vs Shakhtar Donetsk - Donetsk +0.5 +140

These two teams have never played each other, Donetsk is a solid team and have a great manager, Lucescu has a history of doing well in cup competitions and has the experience to know how to kill this game off in midfield. CSKA have an attackive threat with Love at the front however, if Donetsk flood the midfield and make it difficult to play they could spring a suprise in this one and at those odds I think its worth the risk.

Dynamo Kiev - Metalist Kharkiv - Under 2.5 goals

I was going to take Metalist, they have made me alot of money throughout their UEFA campaign but this is a tricky one because these two teams know each other very well! they are in the same league and Kiev just beat Metalist Away 2-0. Sure this is a cup competition anything can happen but I think Kiev knows Metalists game well and so far has come up trumphs.

I'll go for the Under 2.5 but may make another game time decision if Metalist is playing well because I don't rate Kiev to highly.


May have more games later depending on how these do.

Galatasaray scored and are playing good, if you bet on them to Win and Draw like me I recommend wrapping it up with a bet on Hamburg to make it Win/Win/Win a sure 100% bet.

£100 on Galatasaray Win/Draw = £1000 x +120 = 1200

Don't like the way Udinese been playing, they are lucky to be this far, the Polish side should have knocked them out last round. Zenit have experience, quality and I fancy them here.

I don't think they were lucky, actually 1-1 was a fair result now I have calmed down

Most of the time , hamburg would have won the game but they didn't convert their huge scoring chances .

In the first half Hamburg didn't have one clear cut chance and were outplayed.

They scored in the start of the second half and started generating more chances after Galatasaray had a man sent off. Hamburg had a few great opportunities, however, Galatasary could have easily had a second goal before the red card had they not missed either.

The referree made a blunder and he knows it, Galatasaray will probobly get his suspension overturned.

The rules clearly state a player can only be sent off in that position if he is the last man back and the player in a clear scoring opportunity. Emre Asik was not the last man back and it wasn't a clear scoring opportunity, at most it warranted a yellow card.

Bundesliga: Wolfsburg vs Schalke: Wolfsborg -0 (Draw/Win)

Wolfsburg are one of the best teams second half of the season in the league. They are unbeaten in their last 6 games and have not lost at home this season. Schalke recently sacked their manager and are in turmoil off and on the pitch however, havn't been performing that bad recently. I don't think Schalke is the team to break Wolfsburgs home record but could push them for a draw thats why I'm going for the handicap.

Schalke scored first goal and troubled Wolfsburg first half but the half still ended 2-1 Wolfsburg. Final score 4-3, Schalke have a strong attack but poor organisation in defense.

Turkish League: Ankaragucu vs Sivasspor: Under 2.5 goals

Ankaragucu are in a relegation battle while Sivas are first but have took a dip in form and not been playing well at all. Fenerbahce dropped points yesterday which should be added motivation for Sivas.
The reasoning for the under is.

- Anakragcu have score the least goals at home in the league, scoring 8 but have let in 16
- Sivasspor have one of the best defenses in the league but are not very offensive, especially away, they have scored 14 goals the lowest out of the top teams away.
- Sivas have been playing poor but know how to defend, the have had many draws away from home which are usually low scoring affairs.

Bundesliga - Frankfurt vs Hoffenheim: Over 2.5 goals LOSS

Hoffenheim havn't been playing badly and they have been creating chances, the ball just hasn't been going in the back of the net for them lately. The match against Bremen, I still can't understand how one goal didn't go in with the amount of chances in that game there could have easily been 5 or 6.

Today I'm going for the Hoffs to do what they do best, attack, attack, attack. They are still in the title chase as they havn't been loosing, if they grab a win here they have a great chance. Frankfurt have alot of injuries, so do Hoffenheim, which could result in silly mistakes and easy goals. 4 of the last 5 Frankfurt home games have been Over 2.5, this one has a good chance of doing so aswell.

EPL - Sunderland vs Wigan: Under 2.5 goals LOSS

Both teams are in a relatively comfortable position now in mid-table, a point will do both teams fine. They don't have a motive to play gun-ho and leave the defense open, there is no need for the risk as a draw will do fine and if a team steals a goal the win will do even better. I expect a cautious approach, Wigan are having a goal draught lately, last 4 out of 5 away goals have been under and they only scored 1 goal in last 5 away games. Sunderland are 5 out 5 for last games at home being under. They have been getting draws and nice one goal wins and are happy to carry on with their style.

What I do is try to ensure that I make as many matches as I can a WIN/WIN situation.

When a match begins, the Under and Over odds moves in two directions, the Under odds will continuosly move down until a goal is scored. The Over odds move in an upwards trend until goals are scored. The art of the science is to catch these two at times when you can make a nice profit from both events making it a 100% Win scenario.

£1000 x 1.8 (-125), the -125 is the odds in American format as most users here are from the U.S I put up both Odds formats to make it easier.

1.8 decimal odds and -125 are the same thing, sorry for the confusion.

There are numerous bets in football/soccer, the ones I use the most are

- The classic, pick a team to Win
- Asian handicap, ie +0 , -0 , +0.5, -0.5 ie I team can Win or Draw, or even loose but you still win in the case of +1.
- Under/Over goals

What I aim for in each game, is when I pick for example an "Under 2.5" and say the odds are, 2 or in American odd system +100 if the game is under by half time more than likely the odds for the Over will be 6 or 7 / +500 or +600, place a much smaller bet on the Over and this will eliminate all risk from the game.

What are the equivalents of the decimal system in the US?

For example if I understood correctly
2.0 is = +100 in the US
6.0 is = +500 in the US
7.0 is = +600 in the US
correct?

what about 1.0? Is it +50?
and if its 2.15 for example in Europe, is it +115 in the US?
so now I have understood the "+" before the numbers

but sometimes I see numbers like -200
what does the "-" before the number stand for?
