Is there no free parking in Downtown Vegas/Freemont Street?

Sucks, wanted to go to Downtown Vegas and Freemont Street last night for the first time, and yet I couldn't find anywhere to park for free. You can park for free if you have a room key for one of the hotels, but since I am a local, of course I don't have one.

So I ended up driving back to the Strip and hanging out there instead where free parking exists. Sucks though since Downtown Vegas seemed pretty interesting when I drove around.

So does any free parking exist around that area?

Just get your parking ticket validated at the casino you parked at and you can park for free for 3 hours I believe. Last year did this at Binion's while staying at the Rio, they had a self validating stamp you could do yourself by the casino cage. I'm sure many others have it as well, otherwise just use valet parking and it's free. Just have to tip the guy.

Park at the Golden Nugget garage. Inside the casino, you can validate your garage parking stub for 4 hrs free time.

Main Street Station and California are both free I'm pretty sure. You pay $3 and then you get the $3 at the cage inside either the California or Main Street Station.

Also, can park all around the El Cortez/Freemont East for free on the side of the street if after a certain time 5 or something.

I always Valet at the Golden Nugget and Tip the guy a few bucks. Or park in the garage at the 4queens and get your ticket validated or you can park in the garage at Main Street station for free there is always space in that garage but your a coin flip to get mugged. When I visit I always make at least 1 trip to downtown. The Golden Nugget is still a decent property but it is getting pretty fng nasty up there be careful!
