No way in hell people still have TVs in their homes with dials on them, except for maybe ZetaPsi.

thats a riot...kids now a days would be fukked if they had to get up to change the three or four channels you would get from rabbit ears..or if you were lucky, you had a roof antenna..and if you were really stylin' you had an electric motor on the fukkin' thing...move that shitty dial on that brown box that sat on that huge console tv with a 15 in. screen....shit time is flyin' by.....

As opposed to adults - who wouldn't be fukked at all (considering 65% are obese) right?

"Adults" in here bitch about TV shows and Channels (ESPN) all the day, and they have the magic remote right at the ready.

It was between phone and tv
I chose phone for some reason (dial tone)

and when you put it on the U there was a separate dial you had to use like a radio dial that didn't click for channels:

Yeah, there were two dials on the TV (VHF and UHF). I remember having to get up to change the channel and remember when we got a remote control; we used to call it the 'clicker' because it clicked when you pushed the button and it would actually rotate the dial on the TV. Much simpler times.

And the first cable TV control was a big clunky box with a long cord. . . I've seen all this. And this was all high-faluting living 30 years ago.

I remember having to fine-tune local stations in also, here's a pic of the type of TV we had when I was young:

Had 4 local channels, TBS, PBS, I think ESPN but can't really remember. It was a simpler time

"Shut your face" refers closing the visor on one's helmet.

"The third degree" is a reference to Masonism.

"With bells on" refers to a practice peddlers had when they roamed the area west of the Appalachians selling wares. To avoid Indians, they traveled as silently as possible until they reached a settled area and then unmuffled their bells thereby announcing their presence.
