they've been relying on your money for some time now, tell them you need some type of discount or you will be forced to stay home. See what they do.

They got a waiting list man, they'll just bring a new couple kids in. Families that don't make much money, get state benefits to pay for daycare. While I am paying like 375 bones a week, some families are paying like 25 dollars a week for the SAME care, and the state pays the rest. So the daycare has NO problem filling the spots. It's a real racket

I've honestly been trying to get laid off. We figured that if I get unemployment AND we dont have to pay daycare, it would equate to like a 3 dollar an hour raise for me.

Both sets of grandparents help with the kids ALL the time, but both sets are still pretty young and work full time jobs. No relatives are available.

You are still very young and have a long life ahead of you. If you have half a brain you can make decent money. I say go for it and do what makes you happy. Be at home with your kids!

do you think your job will do any layoffs in the coming months? if so, just be extremely lazy and don't do anything that can get you fired, just don't be efficient at all and hope to get laid off, and then collect unemployment while you stay home with you kids for the next 18 months.

We discussed it tonight, and I think for now I am going to conitnue working. The wife thinks that maybe in October she can alter her schedule and we can cut daycare back a little bit. Thanks again for all the opinions guys

Thats definietly the best decision WV... Keep the job and the income even if youre paying that much, it will be much better in the long run.

you have a state job and you better keep it.
nowhere else looks for social workers. once you leave the state it's a long process
to try and get back, your job will be filled immediately.
it's not like you're in a private sector line of work where you can get another job.
in child protective services. you have to milk that cow until you retire.
the years of daycare will go quickly, then they will be in school.

Was going to say... even if you are paying $18,000 a year. You're still bringing home, after that, $22,000. Tough to just let that go away and expect to make that back here and there.

I actually spent the day home with the boys yesterday, because daycare was closed. Around 10am I thought to myself "damn, I wish I was at work, so I could relax a little."
