First off, I'll start by saying I'm totally and completely in love with my kid. I have a 3 year old daughter, and she's absolutely been the pleasure of my life. I am able to watch her a lot during the day while I'm working (or posting
), and I also carry her around to jobs with me when possible. In fact, I started taking her to jobsites when she was literally 1 week old. (FYI...Take a newborn with you to a construction site if you want to freak some people out!!
) This being said, I know your kids are great in every way, but the truth is little kids will drive you completely batshit insane after a prolonged period. I'm not in anyway saying this as a negative about kiddos......I love them.....but its simply a fact of life with toddlers. Its not their fault, but they simply require all your attention, and have an attention span of about 20 seconds. I'm just concerned that 5 days a week, every week, all day long would eventually drive you out of your fukking mind!!:an_light: Lastly.....and again, I'm just being a realist here......you need to think about the sacrifice your taking getting rid of your career and future pension. I know your wife is awesome, and you love each other very much, but on the remote chance things were to change......where would that leave you? I know this isn't even on your radar, but trust me......shit happens all the time. This isn't a popular opinion....especially probably for your wife.......but its something that needs to be discussed. Ideally, this would be drawn up in a legal document. Again, absolutely no ill will meant here in anyway. Just trying to be a realist.

We had a guy around here like you that stayed home and was a so called stay at home dad. Hey Son these guys are fukkin labeled as Bi Sexuals, Bunny Runners and Bottle Boys. Many Bottle Boys around here turn into Bi Sexuals...Why????? Well first off your going to have lots of time to watch fukkin porn and of course eventually your mind will play tricks on you because of all the comments in your home town that you might be Bi because you stay home with kids. Also what happens when you have a fukkin limp bringing kids around?? Well Limps will get you fukkin labeled that your getting it in the ass, many will whisper and laugh at you at supermarkets as will hot girls.I swear why would you want to do this?? instead of carting them off to day care every day or quitting your job to stay home to watch them. why not hire someone to come in and do it.. certainly in wva someone must be looking for work and you can screen out the bad ones...you probably could save at least 500.00 a month plus the aggravation of dropping them off and picking them up...i'd do it...Comment -

I would strongly suggest you keep the job. It can't be too long before your kids start cycling into school. You never know when you might need the money... say your wife gets laid off or something terrible. Two unemployed people with 4 kids sounds like trouble.Comment -

I don't know man.....not working sounds so great. I think of all the great stuff I would get to do with my kids. But I also worry about getting sick of being home. I also worked hard to get where I am, and know that I could probably go back later if I wanted, but then again it's "probably."

WV, Keep your job bro......It sounds so good to stay home but its not what its cracked up to be. I was in the middle of jobs for about 6 months so i was home all day...And its great for the first month or 2 but after that, you will miss having a job and interacting with people of your age.
I know you said you'd be with your kids(and i have none) but they will drive you insane like others have said. You also should really be thankful right now to have a good paying job. People would kill to have a steady paying job and not have to worry about money like you and your wife.
I personally would look into another option to try and save some money with the day care. I know you said you didnt want to have them anywhere else, but im sure there are other great places around.....and $1500 sounds like WAYYYYY to much to be paying for day care.Comment -
Long way to go for a pension. Plus its no sure thing to be there once you arrive at that train station. As I see it that is a minor factor in this process. Still if you leave that job kiss it good bye. Odds are you won't get it back. So your attitude towards your job is important. If you hate it get out. If you see yourself there LONG term stay put. Its quality of life and financial decision making that needs addressing. Its your call.
Personally I would keep my job and look into less expensive child care. That extra educational stuff is an up sell imho. The only thing I remember about my 4 year old child care was some bitch yelling at me to be quiet and take a nap because I was preventing the others from resting. I got straight A's in first grade and then skipped second grade. My parents and grandmother taught me more than any child care center.Comment -
