#73Brother got one. Blew a 1.0. He got off with not Dui on his record because something was fuckked up with the video in the cops car. But in order for the DUI not to be on his record he needed to have a safe driving record for 2 years, otherwise the DUI would pop up and be seen. He paid 2900 in total fees.
2 Buddies got DUI's, both didnt blow. Both had to pay about 5K in lawyer fees and fines. Not blowing is an admission of guilt, but not sure if it shows up on your record. Both lost licenses for 6 months.
All this in Illinois also.
I don't understand why you wouldn't just drive back to a bar near your house instead of hoping on I-88.Originally posted by Dark HorseIf with religion you mean belief system, your belief system is your religion. #74if the lawyer is any good at all they should at least be able to get it knocked down to a wreckless. and you should never blow. its so easy to fail that test its crazy. and if you say youve had any the cops will **** you on the eye stag test. the car cameras will never pick up an eye twitching so its your word against theirs and we know which will hold up. but on first offense you should be fine with a decent lawyer. i blew a .174 and still got mine knocked down. ( got the blow test thrown out ) and you can get a work permit in most cases with a lawyer.
just speaking from personal experience.Comment -

Not like you were going to be gettin' laid.....especially that gay-ass virgin Ngates!!

#84Ive had 4 duis in last 35 years---had them spread out pretty good---Have not had one in last 15 years---I drink and drive almost every day---drive only on roads you are familar with, obey all traffic laws, make sure all equipment is working--29 mph over after a few drinks is really dumb---so was my last dui---expired tag---Good Luck.Comment -

#85I would love to sympathize with you but I just cannot. Drinking and driving, well you get what you deserve. IMO, the penalty isn't severe enough, this is serious business, life and death business.

If you carry it for 4 years and let it lapse you must start all over. Real pain in the ass. Plus, not having DUI on your driving & criminal record means ALOT. There's a lot of jobs you can never get with a fuked up driving recordComment -

#88Loveofgame your fukked any way u look at it. Refusing the test made it worse.
Your looking at 180+ days in jail, probation, license suspended, and community service..
Only way to avoid the above is to not show up at court and move out of state. You should seriously consider doing soComment -

No state in the goddamn union gives you 180 days for suspicion of DUI
Here 1st offense is 48 hours 2nd is 45 days. If you didnt blow you wont even get convicted so there will be no jail timeComment -

#90different laws in different states.
in wisconsin it is immediate 1 year revocation of your license for refusal to take breathalyzer.
profit is right about not speeding (or going too slow so the cops think you're drunk), even after only a couple drinks when i'm nowhere close to .08, i am wearing my seat belt and driving straight as an arrow and 5mph over the limit at the most. don't give them a reason to pull you over...

Not true...I have friends that were convicted without blowing...the states attorney and po po used the smell on his breath, the way he walked and some of the answers to questions to find him guilty....Comment -

#94ttrace again this depends on the state.
i agree number one rule is to never say anything to a cop except your name/show id. UNLESS IT IS DRUNK DRIVING WITH IMPLIED CONSENT LAWS.
in wisconsin from what i hear they are actually tougher on guys that don't blow than the guys that blow .15 (limit here is .08)
for every other crime i wholeheartedly agree, the prisons are full of guys that would never be there except for the fact they admitted to something. almost impossible to prove fraud for a bounced check, for example, without an admission of guilt.Comment -

#95This is very true and happens a lot. But the point is, by refusing, you have wiggle room. At anytime before your friend was convicted, he could have pled out to a lesser charge. No county in the state wants to go thru a trial if it can be avoided. If you fail the breathalyzer, you have no wiggle room and are pretty much on the mercy of the court. A good criminal lawyer will tell you straight up, that you shouldn't blow if you been drinking.Comment -

#96I think it would have been smarter to ask for the blood test. If you only have 3/4 by the time they got you to the station then to the hospital you would've been sitting well below .08. Regardless I'm not an inconsiderate bastard who drives drunk and have absolutely no sympathy for you.Comment -

In Illinois where fortheloveofgame lives, there is an implied consent law that requires all Illinois drivers to submit to alcohol testing if pulled over for suspicion of DUI. Its required and he refused. If he is found guilty, first time offense in illinois carries a max penalty of 360 days in jail plus everything else I mentioned in last post. Doesn't mean they'll throw the book at him, but even with a damn good lawyer he is still looking at serving some prison time. Look up the illinois laws if u don't believe meComment -

#102I dont know if this will make you feel better. But I have a buddy who has 5 DUI's and 10 driving on revoked and never seen any jail time. Cost him about a 100k though and he's been sober now 5 years. He has a great job though so he could afford the cash.Comment -
