Looks like this one was very preventable. Kids were begging their parents to stay home from school over threats that a student was making. School knew something was going to happen and assured parents everything was fine.

Here in Houston we've had almost every school closed at least once or twice this year because of gun threats. I took one of my kids to school one day where 90% of the kids didn't show up because they all heard of death threats but us. They ended up catching a kid with a gun.


It is the fukkiing wild wild west in this city right now. Zero license to carry laws and people are just shooting each other. We just had 7 kids shot in the last 3 days. It's all been normalized.

It's still the parents fault. If my dad found out I got guns off the streets when I was in high school I wouldn't be alive today to talk about it.

A couple of weeks ago, my cousin didn't take her son to school because of gun threats. At first she was like, come on, it's probably just a hoax and he told her. No it's not, everyone knows something is going down. He then said, Mom, I'm one of the tallest guys in the school, I'd be the first person hit. He was dead serious. He stayed home. A few days later her other son who goes to another school had similar threats at his school.


For some reason the media does not want to report on this. Our nations schools are being bombarded with mentally ill kids threatening other kids. Just look at this recent post from a Houston tv station. These are incidents that have recently happened.

When we grew up we learned about hurricane, tornado safety. We had fire drills and evacuation drills. Our kids today know only about lockdowns and terrorist threats. It's fukking insane.

I agree but the main issue is mental health. 1/5 of all kids are mentally ill. The parents are screaming for help but where can they go? They can't get medical help for their kids. They don't want to get their kids in trouble with the police, so where do they turn? Our country has abandoned mental health. Look at all these athletes that come out. We look at them as being weak but they have mental problems that are not addressed.

I had a former coworker who has an adult son now. He's been crazy his entire life. She's tried everything to help him. There just isn't many resources. Her biggest fear was that he would shoot up his school. She has tried her best to keep guns away from him but they are too easy to get.

Gotta arm teachers and have metal detector checks at all exits and enters at the schools. That will solve this problem just like that. Make the schools secure like a jail.

A lot of teachers have mental problems as well, probably more than the kids. Do you really want to arm dumb ass teachers? That is a horrible idea. Look up a teacher named Jesse Randall Davidson.
So, you want metal detectors huh? What would that prove? You just made more students marks by standing in line. Now you give a mentally ill kid with a gun the perfect spot to gun down lots of kids. Hell a crazed gunman could walk up to the metal detector, shoot all the people manning it and make their way indoors and run havoc. You cannot stop a crazy determined person intent on shooting up a lot of people. It is damn near impossible.
