In a petition filed on Wednesday, the widow of Chad Read is seeking custody of her late husband’s children from their mother. In the news release from her attorney, they attached a video of the shooting along with the petition.

When he tried to grab his gun the first time, then shooting would be ok since now your in self defense and defending your life but once he backed away and took a defensive posture he shot someone who wasn't aggressive at that moment and shot an unarmed man. Tough one

Sure, let’s just keep handing out guns to everyone. You don’t even need a license in Texas or even take a basic training class. This is happening almost every day in this state. Road rage shootings are all the rage.

This dumb ass could have simply close the door and turned on the tv but chose to bring out a gun. Now he killed his soon to be stepkids dad and will have his freedom decided by 12 people who most likely are not his peers. Was it really worth it?

1 out of 5 people in the US have mental illness. Add another 40 - 50% idiots and the majority of people with guns are really not qualified to carry them.

I just don’t get why anyone would want their deranged neighbors and family to have guns?

Most likely self defense because he was on his own property. It’s fukked up either way.

The guy in the green shirt grabbed him and shoved him away creating the distance then the other guy raised his weapon in a defensive posture and shot him. I call that murder unless the guy in the green shirt charged at him again which it looks like in the video he didn't.

He could a just fired a warning shot or shot his leg. He was poised and far away then executed him.

I hope people see the diff between rittenhouse self defense and this white guy clearly murdering the guy. Not that I'm accusing anyone here of that but just to be sure both cases are opposites.

You need a driver license to drive a car or operate machinery but to get a gun you need nothing. No medical evaluation or exam passed. NRA only cares about gun sales and not public safety.

He knew he was being recorded. His girlfriend had a phone and was recording along with the dead guys girlfriend recording too. He knew it. It almost looked like they planned it.

either way, it’s damn near impossible to convict someone killing someone else on their own property, especially in Texas. You can basically murder a neighbor walking their dog on your property. The better question will be was it his property or his girlfriends?

He actually shot on the ground by his feet first. Not sure why the dead guy didn’t back up after that shot. Is it just me or did the gun sound like an air rifle? Maybe he thought it was a BB gun. It really sounded muffled.

Weird how both girls kept recording while he was laying on the ground. Neither seemed shocked or cared that he was dead. Neither did the shooter. He just stood there like nothing happened. That video was weird, yet disturbing. Almost didn’t feel real.
