The boyfriend had face scratches on him when they were pulled over in Utah with Gabby and when they were both still alive.

He actually seemed chill and level headed when talking to the police. She was the one that seemed unhinged a bit. Police split them up and he had to sleep in a hotel for one night and she slept in the van. Then they got back together the next day and back on the road. Then she was killed shortly after.
