People forget the Emancipation Proclamation only effected the 4 Northern (Union) States w slaves.

It had no legal impact on the Confederate States, this is why there's a 13th ammendment, and subsequently 14th.

Correct, the Emancipation Proclamation was signed in 1863, but it could not be enforce in the South until the Civil War ended in 1865.

There is no covering up here, in fact, it is highlighting Juneteenth, or June Nineteenth as the day Union Major General Gordon Granger and his troops arrived in Galveston Texas to let the folks know the war was over.

And that the slaves there were now free.

Juneteenth has already been a paid holiday for Texas, NY, Washington, and Virginia.

Many companies have also marked Juneteenth adn given worker the day off.

It is certainly not a new thing.

Because of timing this year, The Federal Reserve will not be observing Juneteenth.

Most large banks gave workers a half day last year, on Juneteenth, us they were under pressure and wanted to act during the social justice riots that occurred during the pandemic last year.

Not sure if that will happen tomorrow.

The major US Exchanges will remain open both Friday and Monday this year.

Both are wrong. EP was enforced sometimes when the Union took the rebels' territories during Civil War. EP, however, did not free any slaves in slave states that did not join the Confederate, such as Maryland. There were like 4 or 5 slave states that didn't join the Confederate Those slaves were not set free by EP. So yeah, we still needed the 13th Amendment and 14th Amendment.

Correct, Minny Fatty covered the 13th and 14th amendments in his post, there were outlier states.
