I will not be eating a Thanksgiving dinner today with family.

My neice may have gotten a cold or flu, not COVID (she was tested) but my sister picked her up in So Cal and brought her up here last weekend.

She's better, but I can't take a chance of getting anything, not even a sniffle, because COVID has my dotors on edge and I have a very important meeting next week with them. It has to be in person.

If I miss that meeting I could put procedures back months, again, and I can't afford to do that. So I sent the family to my sister's and wil just take the chance that they don't bring anything back.

It's unfortunate but all about timing, really.

My Dad, wife and two kids just drove away.

I'm usually not real emotional, but it hurt to watch. Not gonna lie, and it really isn't even a big deal. We're talking a few hours and it wasn't even a big gathering.

They will bring me plenty of leftovers and we will all eat together too.

Just going to have to miss it this time.
