is that I’ve never understood the fuss about her
didn’t think she was hot really at all

St. Bonnies?

The sharpest forecast I make, that stacking forecast which is pretty good when I adjust for this tournament play, shows St. Bonnies beating UCLA 81-77.

The non predictive public gauge has UCLA, of course, winning 83-80.

That posted Total is right between my predictions but the forecast calls for the upset.

It's tough to counter the forecast, as much as I like to, during tournament play when it shows the public dog playing close or winning. I actually prefer the playing close scenario with big underdogs over the upset forecast with smaller dogs.

That said, that +3 looks like a good bet here. Much of the public will be sidelined, if they are that disciplined, or on UCLA for the win with bigger bets (with a bit to cover). The smaller shot takers may take the dog and the may get lucky early this tourney or will be forced into a patience mode...only time will tell but we can pick up early signs.

In terms of streak riding and streak breaking there is no doubt that bettors will be looking to see a UCLA rebound from a terrible OT against Zona, killing the cover there. By the same token, St. Bonnies will have some bettors looking to bounce them, but they will have generally less attention than the world famous Bruins.

As of now, it is my belief that, one of the four teams that advance into the tourney over the next two days will win again, and then one more win or cover after that. So we look for the two wins and hopefully we are narrowed down to one team, and not two. If so, we will visit this paragraph later. Usually, if a team is advancing again, there will be two, giving the bettors the classic toss up to pick from. One will advance, one won't, and the books will absorb the vig.

In terms of vig, the books seem to have done what they can garner action on this UCLA/ St. Bonnies and wouldn't be surprised to see a "sharp" move towards St. Bonnies at one point, in an effort to further generate action. If the market appears to be honing around 3.5, look for that drop back to 3.

If the market drops to 2.5, it could be trouble for St. Bonnies and the cover. In fact, we could see a blowout. This, of course, is speculation on how it's played based on speculated line movement. That's a whole lot of "if's" and let's just try to get a win for tonight.

I have a little bit of St. Bonnies +3 and look to trade further as I develop the rest of the day.

As always, I'm looking over my shoulder and think that when the early appetite for upsets in March Madness is in agreement with some of the sharper forecasts and the media seems to be aware of the situation, that we see trouble for that upset.

We've seen this before and I've always argued that just because we try and can rule out the upset, it doesn't mean the favorite covering is automatic, especially with the low line we see.

This is part of the environment I talk about and this makes that upset that much more difficult attain early on but helps to keep that underdog cover in play. It's dangerous because it flirts with that idea of knowing what will happen but still being unable to profit with a bet. For example, a favorite trails early in a game but comes back just before halftime to cover the 1st half spread. You can be right that they would trail, but miss the first half bet and you may be right about the comeback, but since it already happened, the second half bet is no longer a good one.

If they blink to +3.5 then I might take that underdog again, but I doubt I will be buying the upset here.

Well, there's the downward tick towards St. Bonnies. As I suspected, it appears as though the St. Bonnies cat is out of the bag and that blowout is imminent.

It seems so imminent that, per the last posts, I'm sticking with the +3.

In my opinion, we could see a 1, 2, or 3 point UCLA win here with the least likely of all betting outcomes now being the St. Bonnies win. It just seems like the market sold the underdog here.

Look now for St. Bonnies to take the lead early and UCLA to come back. Maybe we get a buzzer beater. The post above using the example of first and second half outcomes may be the scenario tonight as UCLA may come back right before half to spoil the halftime bet.

St. Bonnies with the halftime lead. Holding St. Bonnies +3 means the sharks must come out. They are definitely circling the upset winner tickets...

UCLA only -2 for the second half seems like an easy bet to make given the way it's played. If it's not the UCLA winner tonight, I think that the second half line will push.
