Locaid, a Location-as-a-Service company, said that it partnered with Cantor Gaming to provide location services for its mobile sports wagering application, available on Android devices, including cell phones and tablets.
In a release, the Company said that it worked with Cantor Gaming to provide a secure and patented privacy platform that enabled Cantor Gaming to extend its wagering functionality beyond the casino floor. As a result, Cantor Gaming's mobile sports wagering application allows customers access to the entire spectrum of wagers available in Cantor Race and Sports Books from anywhere in the state of Nevada.
By using Locaid's location services, Cantor Gaming's application only works within the state of Nevada and will not function once patrons travel out-of-state, compliant with Nevada Gaming Control Board regulations.
By using Locaid's unspoofable, privacy protected, secure cell-ID location service, which checks a mobile device's positioning against a geo-fence, Cantor Gaming can securely and instantly validate the location of a mobile device and determine if it is within the state boundaries.
"To comply with state law, it was critical to ensure a mobile user's location for mobile gaming and safeguard against today's sophisticated spoofing technologies; Locaid enabled us to meet this challenge," said Paul Williams, CTO of Cantor Gaming. "Locaid is the only compliant network location-based solution for mobile sports betting in Nevada, and their services allow us to extend our reach of mobile gaming to the entire state." "Locaid utilizes geofence technology that meets the most rigorous compliance standards in the country," said Rip Gerber, President and CEO of Locaid.
"Locaid is pleased to help Cantor ensure that mobile gamers only place wagers on their smartphones when they are physically located in a legally approved area. Our Location-as-a- Service is the 'only game in town' when it comes to authenticating the real world location of a smartphone in Nevada. As other states evaluate and adopt smartphone-based gaming, Locaid's partnership with Cantor Gaming serves as a roadmap on how to deliver a superior mobile gaming experience that exceeds all federal and state compliance requirements." Cantor Gaming is an affiliate of the financial services firm Cantor Fitzgerald.
In order to use the Cantor sportsbook on your device, you have to download and install the Cantor Gaming Sportsbook App and the Cantor Gaming Device Validator.
The Cantor Gaming Device Validator must over ride whatever setting you have on your phone. As I have GPS off, and this uses it to detect the geo-fence.
Everytime you log into the app, it validates your location, which takes a minute or so to complete. So don't try to make any last minute bets, because this might just shut you out of them.

I think it's easier with IOS than with Android. I used to fake my location to bypass blackout restriction on NBA League Pass, and MLB Extra Innings apps on my phone. Worked like a charm.
Gold make sure you backup your phone before you fuk with it.

Dude this would be awesome if you can really trick it. I already have a rooted Android so I can easily fake my location. I rather use books from Vegas that I know I will get paid out on than use sketchy offshore books that take 8 months to get a withdrawal. This is huge if we can really do this. Please keep me updated!

Onlooker...the system they use I'm familiar with. It is meant to carry out fake IPs or masking IPs. The system this program uses on the iPhone is completely different. It's not using the IP but just changing the locations directing to a "bug" in the apple location services system

These are the threads on SBR that makes this forum relevant. I'd rather see these type of threads vs "my biggest life saving air bets ever" type of threads. This would be ground breaking if we can make this happen. Will wait for your reports.

Don't get me wrong, I'm interested to see the results of the test, but I just think Locaid has made it harder then this to crack.
Also, Cantor Gaming doesn't have a Sportbook App for the iPhone currently.

Yeah, the Sportsbook App is only on Android for the time being. They keep saying they are actively working on a iPhone App.
Here is the iPad Game App. Xp points, no real money.

ok let us know.
Also, SBRJohn and online sportsbook owners, no need to feel threatened by this, the type of players that would be determined to figure this out are not the type the books want as customers anyway, probably already limited or banned.

I am 95% positive it can be done. As mentioned, the hack over rides the apps, not the other way around.
I'm just concerned on how to register with Cantor. Do you need a Nevada address? Or just leave a deposit and be physically in Nevada to wager?
I'm going to give it a shot soon. Finishing school in a few weeks. Will report

You need to deposit in person at cantor gaming I'm assuming you don't need to be a resident they just want to ensure your placing the wagers in Nevada. I'm sure they give you an account number when you deposit.. Anyone know?

Phone ip is nothing to do with location. Its just the identifier unlike Internet ip
