worst title game ever

Obviously any team that shoots that poor will not win period. On a side note, I heard that tickets for this game were plentiful and you could easily purchase a pair for well below face value. Why was this? Was it the matchup and no number 1's left or something else?

When you got that uconn team winning the title, you know there is something seriously wrong with college ball these days. Until the new generation of kids arrived on the scene college ball was exciting esp. back in the day when u had the fab 5, the great duke-nc rivalries. It was good up until the year kansas won the title with chalmers n co. Next yr NC destroyed the field to win the title n i havent seen one damn team even close to being great. Kids are brought up these days trained to play system ball unlike the guys in the nba u see now honed their skills on the playground. The kids r jumping early obviously that hurts as well but the basketball culture itself has changed drastically over the last few years. I dont know if college ball will ever be as good as it was back in the day.

This is all because the great players go straight to the NBA or 1 and done. If the players were forced to stick around longer, it'd be a different story. The players are actually better these days. Could you imagine Derrick Rose and John Wall as juniors and seniors?

that cliche that defense wins championships means nothing?
Just saying. I know Nova beat G-Town back in the day and all, but if you can't defend you CANNOT win. The NBA (which sucks) is about offense ONLY. With such a short shot-clock, you have Jordans running around shooting 100x per game. Of course they are going to get x amount of points. I give a dickload of credit to both Butler and UConn for playing INCREDIBLE D for well over 1/2 the game. D in hoops is difficult. Give Calhoun a dickload of credit. He's amongst the pantheon, now, of top college coaches.

Also, as a retort, to when 'college hoops was awesome' - referencing the 'fab 5'. They won 0 championships and were under heavy violations ala UNLV back in in the day. Whatever happened to watching top players playing top D?

The college game, IMO, is BETTER, without the one and done players. Who wants to watch Lebron go out in the sweet 16 to Manhattan (entirely plausible)?
I do. Great f'n players cannot win a championship alone. If the NCAAs don't show that, then I don't know what does.

every year the ncaa title game is a bore. no one cares since they are 99% sure to be out of their bracket contest... it is so anti-climatic and coupling that with a boring game to boot.. college basketball is nothing more than an upscale gym class demonstration. no drama no suspense....
