It's no different than the tactics a ******* boiler room operation uses.
you brought up the comparison with finacial planners and if you read my relpy I didn't mention it was like comparing apples and oranges. I mainly said you were wrong with respect to the term "cold calling" which is also expalined in my reply.

Maybe it's because I have been in sales all my life that it's doesn't get me all upset when I get a call. Also, it depends on the salesperson and how they portait themselves. Listen, all I am saying is don't get upset over the little things like a simple phone call for what it's worth.

I said my peace and we will just have to agree to diagree I guess.

    BOL with your bets.

No, you didn't read my post or misread it. I simply said that I consider my sports books account the same as I do my brokerage accounts in the fact that I have money in there to take calculated risks.

I never mentioned financial planners until you responded and made the comparison of what you personally did with your clients to maintain a relationship.

These calls for sports books are for deposits and deposits only. They don't want anything else from you but your money deposited in their company.

No need to get rude on the first call.

In all honesty, there's no need to be rude at all. These people calling are trying to make a living like all of us. It's a poor model that the higher ups decided to take, not the person on the phones fault.

I'll bet 90% of the callers hate their job but need to do it to live. I don't blame them, nor would I ever condone being rude to them.

I did read it and if I misread it I apologize. Let's not kid ourselves, sales is sales and if a book or a brokerage house calls you, it's to get your business and thus make money rather than your taking your business elsewhere.

                Bet Phoenix is the worst!

Only companies that are in trouble use boiler room tactics! You never hear from companies that are doing well more than once or twice a year!
