What are the most dangerous stadium locations?
I'm from NYC. Madison Square Garden where the Knicks play is in midtown 33rd street or so and that is pretty much the best part area of manhattan midtown where we see people go shopping, eating entertainment along with Times Square etc. Its pretty much the center of the NYC.

But has anyone here been to yankee stadium before? I been there one time 5 years ago or so and the area the stadium is surrounded by is real shady. Its the south bronx and its not a good area. However, when there are yankee games, they are tons of people on the train to and from the game. They had a new stadium last year but they basically just moved across the block. They tried to get a stadium in manhattan but of course that could not happen, same with the Jets in manhattan a few years ago. I heard that on yankee games, yankee stadium is pretty much one of the safest places one can be. I recalled going to the game and wow there were tons of NYPD officers around the area and tons of people. I been there a few times where it wasn't the baseball season and it looked pretty bad and very little people and i know that area is not good. The Mets are difference because Citifield is in queens and the area is real safe from the many times i go there.

Of course many people go and watch the yankees and since this happens, there is lesser chance of crime because of the amount of people around there. But it doesn't really feel right to me. I mean you have a prestigious yankees team and yankee stadium and the stadium is located in the south bronx. Does anyone know what big name stadiums are located in bad areas? I heard Soldier Field was in the south side of chicago and many of us know that is not a good area. I know the Chicago White Sox U.S. Cellular Field is located in the south side as well but does that deter people from going to white sox games? Is the area around there generally safe or is it only safe during baseball games? I know Chicago Cubs Wrigley Field is pretty safe because its in the north side.

But what about Dodger stadium or the oakland coliseum? The same with Staples Center. I recalled there was that riot when the Lakers won the title back in 2009 and there were huge riots with people burning cars and other things. What about in Detroit with the Pistons and the Red Wings? The St. Louis Cardinals and Rams stadium? Those are the only locations i can think about that i might consider those locations for the stadium to might be bad. I heard Jacksonville has lot of crime but is there near the vincinity of the Jaguars stadium area. I also heard USC Trojan stadium was located in the hood. Is this true?

The Citrus Bowl in Orlando and The Orange Bowl in Miami before it was demolished. A couple times parking outside the Citrus Bowl I was nervous to even park and walk to the stadium.

LA Colesium is in a tough area but shit so is USC campus i've never had a problem if it was that unsafe All these rich kids wouldnt be walking and biking around. Dodger stadium is another deal they offer tickets for $5,10 bucks upper seats and have all you can eat pavilion... never had a problem outside but if you go pay at least $50 bucks and get something lower level you'll thank me later. The drunk cholos (mexican gang members) who fight throw beer ( youtube search it im not making this up) arent down below. Security is solid fot the most part. Staples is downtown come on its LA downtown of course it has its bad side some parts smell like piss because of the homeless but that are is being fixed up The Pantry is my breakfast spot i hit there at 2 am all the time. The Media makes things out to be alot worse than they are. If you have any street smarts, and arent looking for trouble you'll be safe at all LA stadiums.

Those LA Laker mini riots are idiot cholos from around the area swarm to staples pretty much the same crowd who were raider fans before the move. Like i said common sense and street smarts you didnt see any of the Lakers Fans who had playoff tickets outside of few outside burning, fighting, acting an ass. Those Laker playoff tickets cost an arm and two legs.

The area directly around Comerica Park in Detroit (dubbed the "Entertainment Zone') is pretty safe, propped up by all the Illitch investments there. People park inside the Joe or travel there by People Mover or shuttle bus. Smooth transition from car to arena.

I was also surprised when visiting the new Busch Stadium in St Louis. Very nice area of St Louis.

The stadiums in San Fransisco and Los Angeles are more dangerous because when the big earthquake hits you don't want to be left in the stadium with 100,000 people and all the traffic highways are jammed with debris.

I've been to US Cellular and we took the L which drops you off less than a block from the stadium. However, if you get much further than that away from the stadium I was told it get very shady very quick.

Where the White Sox play is not that bad really, it's the other side of the expressway moreso.

The scariest place I've ever been to attend a sports event would have to be an evening match at Highbury Stadium, London (Arsenal's old ground)

The main way from the station to the turnstiles was through a very dicey housing estate, which come to think of it would work very well if they were to remake the old film "Warriors"

Back before the United Center was built, a friend and I caught a Bulls game at the old Chicago Stadium (RIP) and after being severely overserved by the concessions staff, ending up walking all the way back downtown to the CBOT / train station. More than once a police officer pulled up and asked if we were lost / needed a ride

I go to the Port of Oakland 2 times a week. Once you leave Oakland Stadium and head north on I-880 you run into the slums of Oakland and with the Port right there also, I wouldn't be hanging out there at night.

Yankee Stadium is fine on gameday..... lots and lots of security around; when they are not playing is a different story. Same goes for Turner Field in Atlanta..... ok on gameday, not so much on an off day or offseason.

The best stadium experience I've had is Pittsburgh PNC Park. Great experience, good food, beautiful scenery --- now if they would just get a decent team.

Yeah, there's a reason why there is so much traffic leaving the parking lot towards the highway. The back road is much faster but its not worth the risk of driving through Hunters Point.

I agree about Memorial Stadium in Baltimore and the Ravens M&T stadium on Russell street, that part of town was really bad. Anything west of Martin Luther King Blvd. you need kevlar. Now that I think about it, almost all areas around a Martin Luther King street are bad... why is that??

The best stadium experience I've had is Pittsburgh PNC Park. Great experience, good food, beautiful scenery --- now if they would just get a decent team.
even when the yankees arent there it is fine during the day. probably a little dicey at night. was there for a tour the last year before stadium closed. yanks were on road. wasnt bad at all.
