Singapore is a weird country. When I stayed there they had an article about this guy who killed his roommate and got something like 5 - 7 years. Then the newspaper went on to say "the reason his sentence was so severe...". So severe???? He purposely and with aforethought killed someone and he only gets 5 - 7 years???
Then there is a mandatory death penalty for trafficking in illegal drugs. Yet alcohol and tobacco distributors are allowed to make obscene profits on drugs that are more harmful than marijuana.

Singapore has a very low birth rate and they encourage legal immigration. There are three "stop, do not go there" factors:
1. if you are stupid
2. if you are gay
3. if you hate hot and humid climate
I would seriously considered moving there but my wife falls into the third category.

Imagine if the US did this to one of its 11 million illegals.
There would be worldwide outrage, leftists and minorities burning down cities, international sanctions, boycotts, the fuking works...yet we hear about this on some back cover story from the telegraph.

Singapore is the same country that executes you if you bring drugs into their country.
You're quoted as saying "Asian Intellectual Superiority" as a reason for its success, superior to what? Also keep in mind the West taught you well as your former master and set the precedent, i.e. by establishing capitalism, Western architecture, trade, etc.

Singapore immigration is heavily weighted toward the Chinese.

Can't argue with this except that the West did not teach me as I am not Singaporean but this amazing nation somehow did learn the best practices from both West and East. Good for them.

What do you mean? Yes, the Chinese prevail due to geographic factors but do they have rules that the Chinese have a preference? I highly doubt this.

Yes, they do. The reason Chinese prevail is not due to geographic factors. There are hundreds of millions of people living closer to Singapore than China.
That's the odd thing about this country. They have a legal right to discriminate according to a certain group of people. It's not the US.

And that it why there are twice more the Malaysians than the Chinese.

Do you have any reference? All I know about them is that they have "open doors" immigration policies even more so for highly skilled workers. They discriminate against stupid, against people breaking the law, and against gays. I support the former two and hope they will come around with the latter. I have never heard about any nationality preferences in Singapore.

I'd imagine there would be a lot less than 11 million illegals here or at least they wouldn't be able to sit down and take a shit.

The Malays are natives, not immigrants. The island was originally a Malay island. Then the British came in the early 1800's. Since independence in 1965 the Chinese became the majority due to nationality discrimination.
If you are talking about temporary workers then that is different. I was talking about citizens.

If they come from Malaysia, they are immigrants.

This is factually wrong. The Chinese became the majority in the 19th century.

I am talking about their "open doors" immigration policy. Any immigrant can apply for a citizenship. You say their immigration policies are discriminative but have not produced any reference of this despite a direct request. The numbers I quickly googled refute your claim. The recent numbers show that among new immigrants about 50% are Malays while about 25% are Chinese.
