NPR News has terminated the contract of longtime news analyst Juan Williams after remarks he made on the Fox News Channel about Muslims.

Williams appeared Monday on The O'Reilly Factor, and host Bill O'Reilly asked him to comment on the idea that the U.S. is facing a dilemma with Muslims.

O'Reilly has been looking for support for his own remarks on a recent episode of ABC's The View in which he directly blamed Muslims for the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. Co-hosts Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg walked off the set in the middle of his appearance.

Williams responded: "Look, Bill, I'm not a bigot. You know the kind of books I've written about the civil rights movement in this country. But when I get on the plane, I got to tell you, if I see people who are in Muslim garb and I think, you know, they are identifying themselves first and foremost as Muslims, I get worried. I get nervous."

I've always liked Juan Williams and enjoyed his insight whenever I'm tuned into Fox News. Many respected analysts have already went on the record in his defense.. he shouldn't be hard-pressed to find work. Plus he still has his gig with Fox as far as I know.

Good points Profit. If I see a guy dressed like Bin Laden on the plane I will feel safer knowing he should be very stupid to start a terrorist mission dressed like this when all eyes are on him. I would be more concerned with the terrorist that blends in with the other Americans on the plane and can look like your next door neighbor.

No you can't. Equating 'realist' with 'racist' and pawning it off as some sort of PC event is the sign of someone in dire need of reading a dictionary. Williams may have simply been saying how he feels, what he thinks about the situation. But that neither makes him a realist or a racist, which are two entirely different things.

This comment isn't the only reason Williams got the pink slip. There's more to it than that, always is.

Juan Williams is a great guy who was only being brutally honest about how he feels. NPR is nothing more than a mouthpiece for the left wing/liberal/socialist morons that are trying to destroy this beautiful country. I mean this is why people of all political view points can only watch FOX News these days. FOX is the only news organization that actually reports and talks about the NEWS. Whereas all other major media outlets only criticize republicans, FOX criticizes ALL politicians, regardless of party. It is taboo at msnbc, cnn, nyt, ect to criticize any liberal or democrat or to say anything about any minority group that isn't 100% politically correct. FOX is te only place where people can simply discuss the news and their viewpoints without being scared shi*tless into having to be politicaly correct.
