Most of life is just noise
Been listening to some great music, and in a very reflective mood. You ever stop to think about life in the truest sense? Most everything we do is trivial. We work, we watch games, take care of responsibilities. Repeat week after week. All of sudden, a year has past us by. And then another year. And then one day we have no years left. Isn't there more to this life? Is this all there is?

Remember back in high school, before we'd all lost heart? Remember the excitement of playing sports, crushes on girls, dreams about our future, and all the things that we were gonna do? The feeling of being in love for the first time......like it was never gonna die off? Remember what it felt like to live? I do.

But then everything changes. One day, you wake up and realize that you lost heart many years ago. I think everyone knows what I'm talking about, whether they are willing to admit it or not. But what is the truth? Is the truth that one day, you just grow up and realize that there isn't much to life? That all those dreams and feelings we had as teenagers were really just not reality? Or is there a secret to keeping your heart alive, and really living life to the fullest?

I'm talking about having a rich life, but it has nothing to do with finances. I have so many deep friendships that have really died off, for no other reason than the noise that is around us all. Being busy with nothing important.

Everybody talks about living life to the fullest. But I don't know anybody that is doing it. Every one of my close friends shares the same feelings of having lost something that was once glowing.

So what is the truth? Does life generally suck? Or are we all just missing it, without even realizing it. Music tends to bring out these feelings that there has got to be a richness to life that I'm just missing with all these distractions.

If you're thinkin' it over but you just can't sort it out
Do you want someone to tell you what they think it's all about
Are you the one and only who's sad and lonely, reachin' for the top
Well the music keeps you goin' and it's never gonna stop

The world is full of compromise, the infinite red tape
But the music's got the magic, it's your one chance for escape
So turn me on - turn me up - it's your turn to dream
A little magic power makes it better than it seems

    This will help I promise.

Used to work with a guy who used to say:

"Most of life is just showing up."

A lot of truth in that...

If you don't get it from an early age, you are screwed. If you don't understand as a teenager that you have to work your ass off and save about 20% of every dollar you get, you are done.

Life is all about finances to a certain extent. Those that are financially strapped are constantly thinking about finances, it ruins every day. If you understand that as a teenager, even if you make minimum wage but work your ass off and save money, you can live financially free one day while you are still relatively young. The problem is that most don't understand that. They spend all the money or get hooked on drugs.

Every day of my life if only for a brief moment I wish I could start it all over. I think most are like that unless you are lucky enough to have a really good personality which leads to business success or very smart and get a really good degree.....doctor, lawyer, engineer, etc.

My downfall was drugs and parents who didn't care I was on drugs.

You have been reading Sartre, or maybe you should if you weren't.

Whatever the case, I believe you are 100% correct. Something is not right, something is missing, many people turn to religion, some to gambling, others to drugs. It is a struggle.

Doesn't hit most people until after 40, some never at all.

                        Good luck in your quest.

back when we were little kids, life was easy. Tv was great.. it was real tv. i remember coming home on tues night and was so happy because at 8pm, happy days, laverne and shirley was on and it was great. we had 4 channels only and it was great. it was back when tv meant something. so many great shows. today's tv sucks. 300 channels and nothing good on.. that's why everyones on youtube or internet.

we went out to the park and played every night after school til it got dark. we got exercise. today, parks are empty. kids are fat today because of this. there were only 2 fat kids in my whole school. today, 76% of all kids are fat.

today, everyone in a rush. there are ipods, blackberry's, i phones, cells, texting...etc.. so sad. life was way better back then.. the time was easier and everyone seemed happy and relaxed.

i am so happy i grew up in my time. i feel sorry for today's kids

                              lol Nicky,

You were watching Happy Days and Laverne and Shirely, I am so fvckin old I was living those days. They were fun, what many people called innocent times. Even though our parents were scared to death about the bomb and the Soviet Union and whether or not their kids would fight in Viet Nam.

Past times always seem better, I think because we were young and strong and everything was a joy. Not so sure the times were better but we think they were and they might have been.

Just passing the time as best we can before we die. Monuments crumble, history books burn, and entire civilizations are lost. In the end, we are a speck within the universe. The amount of time man has even existed is trivial. We fill our lives with seemingly important meaningless things that set us apart from the other animals we share the air with, but in the end, despite all our trappings of "civilization", we are animals too.

Eat, Phuk, Protect our families, and Die.

Things that used to be exciting lose they're edge. I'm heading up to Iowa City for the Wisc/Iowa game on Sat...Part of me is pumped and excited, part of me is asking "Do I really want to mess with parking and all the people?" ..Used to be we'd go up there on Fri. night, pass out in the car if we had to.

I've officially entered the "Old guy in the club" era of my life, and I'm not even 40 yet. sucks.

Good job. You've looked outside your little comfy box for once. In about a day or two you will go back into your box. Everyone has these thoughts about life and realize their meaningless shitty existence and peek outside the box every now and then, but soon they will go back in. People need their sense of false happiness in order to cling to life.

Nothing is important. Some would say 'never give up love for money'. Others would say 'don't give up success for a girl'. etc... but both are fake, both are meaningless. Everything in this life is false happiness, and exchanging one false value for another won't make you better off.

how is everything false? if there was no truth there also couldnt be false's

people have different opinions about what is important of course.....

Of course you can say everything is meaningless but if you truly meant it you would just end yourself wouldnt you?

For young folks the art of managing time is the single most important thing imo. What is important to you? Whatever that answer is pursue it. Get the girl, learn about business and get the job that takes you to the next level. Get in shape if that is on your mind. Don't make excuses and don't be afraid to fail. You see an interesting girl you approach her. Keep looking for the right business opportunity. I used to go to the book store and read business books because I couldnt afford to buy them. But 1 to 2 times a week I was at the book store learning. Get organized, make lists of your goals and make a to-do list for a few days in advance that shows how your how much of your time will be spent pursuing your dreams. .

We are all just a part of a giant chain reaction. That is all. But we have been given the gift of reality, so thats tight. At least we are not trees or water or some other matter.

money means nothing.. everything means nothing.. except one thing.. HEALTH.. if you don't have your health, you can have Billy Gates money, you'll be miserable. i have a friend who had it all, money, house, looks, family, great son, great wife, and now he has cancer and half his life is in a hospital for chemo and he's miserable. he had it all and now he's a skeleton and bald. He realized now how great he had it before compared to now.

Jesus Christ i am watching this philly game and not happy because i got this throbbing toothache and i have no appointment till next monday. i am in fukkin pain and i miss being healthy watching baseball. it's not fun being in pain...nothing beats health boys.. NOTHING..

                                                            everything else means shit.
