#79Be careful with rehab. When they are done and go back on, it's worse and could be the end.
Wife just went to a funeral of a kid who went to rehab and OD'd. This new shit is deadly. You'd think dealers
wouldn't sell that shit. If their buyer dies, they have no income..........duh.Comment -

#96Sounds like great fade material.. Find out who the kid is on in MLB today?
In all seriousness, the kid is a man at 30+ and he will learn the hard way, nothing wrong with going broke and hitting rock bottom to force change... Can send him to GA and see if that helps though. GL..Comment -

Sam we don't see eye to eye on some stuff but you have my deepest and sincere concern. I hope things work out for you and your boy, it can be heartbreaking.
I don't want to give advice but let me tell you a short story. My youngest was a handful, he was hanging with the wrong crowd, he was breaking our hearts and he was on the road to problems. Nothing very very serious but I and my wife saw future problems. The final straw was when he was caught throwing stones at of all things a police car. Well I saw red and said this is it I must do something drastic, and I did.
I did the research found a place for near delinquent teens and preteens and enrolled him. It was an old hospital building which they turned into almost a jail. He was admitted after preliminary paperwork and he was basically not allowed out until we all agreed he would be okay. He cried every night we visited him...please daddy let me out I promise this and I promise that. We refused. About 6 weeks later we relented and he straightened his act out. Not saying that will happen with all but you must do something.
Years later in university this same boy wrote a composition that started...how my dad saved my life. It brought tears to my eyes. Today he is an award winning teacher, a fine husband, a great father and a perfect son. I am so glad we had the balls to take some difficult steps.
btw, I understand your problem is different than the above. but I believe any type of action is better than nothing. I wish you well.Last edited by dante1; 10-12-17, 12:10 PM.Comment -

My dad never did anything more than beating me up until I got the upper hand when I was 16 and almost beat him up... he never crossed me again. Bad relationship all the way.
And after probably 10kilos of blow snorted by yours truly, no career or steady job and thousands or 100s of thousands gambled in action, im still on the path of destruction.
Good parenting makes a difference. I never stood a chance.Comment -
