I'm an analytical geek from way back; some of these blockhead pitchers still don't realize that in this day and age, every pitch is analyzed by us geeks, location, velocity, type of pitch, everything. Analysts don't miss a thing.
    Agree with that.

Also they will never get away with it because the Sportsbooks will 100% know by the gambling patterns. People will blame this on gambling being legalized now why this is happening? They are so far off it's not even funny. If you are going to fix a game especially a prop bet you better be getting down offshore, but u can't. They also allow them to hang themselves they think they are getting away with it at first. Clase is toast I watched all the pitches. Clase was making 4.5 million this year LOL and about to make way more than that and did this for who or what? No way they could get close to that much down on a first pitch bet over 162 games let alone 22 times? Makes no sense. The truth will come out.

Mets and Phillies both snag top bullpen arms. Phillies get Jhoan Duran from Twins and Mets get Ryan Helsley from the Cards.

Suarez returns to Mariners. Damn that Mariners lineup is going to be a handful.

Big get for them. Updated Mariners odds after the trade:

And with George Kirby healthy, the Woo/Kirby/Castillo/ Logan Gilbert is as tough a starting rotation in the game today. With Bryce Miller coming back, the bottom of that rotation can still shut down many an opposing bat.

Gilbert has a 13:1 K: BB ratio, which is insane.

With Suarez, the Mariners' lineup has to be taken seriously. Mariners will probably sandwich Suarez between Arozarena and Cal Raleigh; somebody has to be pitched to, and don't neglect J-Rod either.

I liked the Mariners based on their pitching alone at the start of the season. I love them now, with Suarez, they're a better club top to bottom now than both Texas and Houston.

#1 thing Suarez does for Mariners is ensure teams can't pitch around Cal. Because what are you going to do pitch around Cal to put more runners on base for Suarez? This was huge for Mariners nation. Shout out to Mariners owner going out and spending. A few years ago they would have never done this. You can tell owner wants to win.

Arozarena and J-Rod are both on pace for 30+ homer runs. 60 homers is a bit of a stretch for Raleigh; 54 homers is not, and depending on Judge's health situation, MVP may not be out of the question.

The second baseman, Polonaco, had 17 HR's this season too.

That team is scary good right now.

                      As per Ken Rosenthal

Houston Astros owner Jim Crane fancies star power. San Diego Padres right-hander Dylan Cease is one of the biggest stars available on the trade market.

Perhaps it should come as no surprise, then, that Cease is at the top of the Astros’ wish list as the trade deadline nears, according to sources briefed on the team’s discussions.

Cease, 29, would stabilize the Astros’ injury-depleted rotation for the rest of the season, and join All-Star right-hander Hunter Brown and left-hander Framber Valdez to give the team a potentially dominant trio in a postseason series.

The Astros, while dealing with lingering injuries to designated hitter Yordan Alvarez, All-Star shortstop Jeremy Pena and All-Star third baseman Isaac Paredes, also are in the market for a hitter.

Blue Jays bolster rotation with former Cy Young winner Shane Bieber

Shane Bieber has made only four big-league starts in the last 24 months, but the Toronto Blue Jays are banking that the unanimous 2020 American League Cy Young Award winner will soon add a jolt to their rotation.

The Cleveland Guardians are trading Bieber to the Jays, the team announced Thursday. The Jays will send right-handed pitching prospect Khal Stephen, the No. 9 prospect on Keith Law’s preseason team rankings, to the Guardians in return.

Toronto’s rotation has stabilized in recent weeks, with Eric Lauer seizing a starting spot and Max Scherzer’s ailing thumb becoming merely a background concern. But, behind the healthy starting five remained a question. Lazaro Estrada and Easton Lucas have chipped in up-and-down outings, when needed. Maybe a returning Alek Manoah or prospect Adam Macko could become improved depth options in the final months.

Cease is a bum and overrated. He has great stuff but way more often than not, his pitch count balloons early in the game and you are lucky to get 5-6 innings from him. I'm hoping the Padres send him elsewhere today and allocate resources elsewhere. Don't forget, he got lit up in the playoffs last year and would rather hitch my wagon to someone else....I've seen enough of this perennial underachiever.

The Padres enhanced their staff in a big way on Thursday, agreeing to acquire elite closer Mason Miller and starter JP Sears from the A's, a source told MLB.com insider Mark Feinsand. The teams have not confirmed the deal, which would send Leo De Vries -- the No. 3 overall

I hate it at first glance and feel like Preller way overpaid as usual. I'm so sick of him mortgaging the future year after year.

Yeah he is good and I do like the fact that he is under contract for years but just hearing that they gave up De Vries makes me upset and full details of the trade are not available yet....they gave up 3 pitchers as well. I will probably like it even less when I hear who the 3 pitchers are.

The three pitchers the A's are receiving, per a source, are all right-handers: Braden Nett (San Diego's No. 3 prospect), Henry Baez (No. 13) and Eduarniel Nunez.

To be fair, Nett is the only one that I feel like they might miss but really gutted that he traded DeVries for a relief pitcher no less...

If he was going to trade that guy, I was hoping for Duran or Kwan(an everyday impact bat).

It is what it is and I have to live with it...hopefully Miller shines with the Padres or this will be another epic disaster like the Soto trade.

nasher, I was reading that the Padres might try and make Miller a starter? I do not fancy that.

Now after this trade, I really hope they trade Cease and Suarez(might be best closer available now) and move Miller into the closer role. Need to recoup some talent as both of those guys are gone after this season anyhow.

                                          Yeah, leave Miller alone.
He's a nice setup dude or closer, no need for him to 'open' games.

Listen, I like De Vries' stick too, but he's not a lock to produce at the MLB level.
He was feasting on Fort Wayne A ball pitching, I'm not impressed (yet)

I have, it's the most boring city in the U S of A.)

I love pitching. Miller is legit, with Sears, you're getting a live left arm.
I personally like Sears; the problem there is that he's so inconsistent.

This is only one opinion but ESPN gave the Padres a D+ on the trade and the A's an A...pretty much my gut reaction when I first saw the name DeVries.

I already feel sick looking around the league and seeing all the good players that the Padres have traded the past 5-10 years. The next 10-15 years are going to be brutal watching all the talent that Preller traded away. Reminds me of like 20-30 years ago when there were very good ex Padres all over MLB.
