Brad Stevens & Mike Daignault are the best coaches to come from the college ranks in recent years. Their humility has served them well in this league. NBA stars don't want their coach acting like the daddy.

Stevens turned the Celtics around. He'd still be coaching if race weren't an issue. Brown openly said he wanted a black coach. Tough to coach a team led by a guy that also lead BLM marches when you're on the other side of that.Comment -
Well, Coach K is an advisor to the Lakers. But Hurley fam is close to Woj so clearly that's where the news came from and why Chams didn't break it.

Ehhh that's really stretching it. He's not part of the Lakers in any official capacity (or is he? I highly doubt Lakers would pay him in an official role given how thrifty they are). He does advise them unofficially sure but that's no different from any front office executive asking a close contact for general information about a candidate that they might know
Anyway, the point was that Coach K's situation 20 years ago had nothing to do with the Hurley situation now. There are still some things about this story that don't really add up to me but I'm sure bits and pieces of what happened behind the scenes will leak out eventually. I almost get the feeling this was more Woj's doing than Hurley which is a bit shocking to me but apparently he's quite the character behind the scenes. The story here in LA was that Woj had been sitting on this info for a while and when he found out the Hurleys were flying out to LA, he essentially had to break the story before anyone else could get it.
