71 burger on the Bulls including an incredible FT miss and putback for the tie in regulation.
Most points by any Cavs player ever.

It was, but man, Patrick Williams just flat out didn't box out a guy when he knows he's trying to miss Inexcusable.

booker scored like 60 or 63 1st game back from injury against pelicans. i saw that game. so nothing new. no defense at all. he all scored the points like free lay ups. so no big deal. nba is big major joke now and it has been last 3 years.

I watched a YouTube highlight. I don’t think he hit the ground one time driving to the basket you’re supposed to break his arm or at least try then they don’t drive anymore
I know he had a lot of long range shots, but nobody was on him
Look at the scores they’re all star type scores

days of playing defense are over. i can't believe what i'm watching in the nba these days you can't put your elbow on a guy but the offensive guy can do whatever he wants and the only time you get an offensive foul is if you get beat up or more likely if you flop
basically you can't play defense anymore, just hope the guy misses
you have to have offense yto win an nba title. your defense can be average, as long as you outscore the other team with 3s. look at the warriors, look at the nets, look at the celtics what do these teams do-they shoot 3s all game.
unless the ratings start to go bad, this is the way it's going to be.

They don't play defense in NBA anymore. Anyone remeber the 90s when Bulls/Pistons they would only score 80 points each?

nasty series. bill laimbeer with a clothesline, they used to do that back in the day. immediate 10 game suspension and counseling
it's why jordan still hates the pistons and isiah thomas. cause they used to beat his /ss until they got old. daly was the originator of the "jordan rules". course we all know this but it's worth reflecting
these days the game is so fast it's no surprise these guys need days off. you can't slow anyone down. it's easier to get injured. it's a race track out there

Not even close to Kobe's 81. 3 guys on him at all times. Anyone that scores over 60 nowadays doesn't count for shit in my book.

The 11 assists just add to the history.
There has never been a 70 point scorer with that many assists.
He also did it with only 34 FG attempts, the lowest number of attempts for anyone who has ever scored 63 or more points.

it's weird how the nba just totally changes
for a while everyone runs pick and roll... then everyone feeds it down to a big guy... now everyone just launches 3 pointers
mitchell picked the wrong night to go off though! only news all night was "we don't have any more updates" about hamlin

Remember that the refs weren't calling fouls when the defenders were impeding offensive players without the ball, this includes grabbing a jersey and holding them back from running.
The NBA told the officials to start calling those fouls to allow for more freedom of movement for the offensive players off the ball.
Some teams, like the Warriors, automatically benefitted from now calling these fouls, and other teams adjusted the offense a little more to use freedom of movement.
This only helped the offense in general.

yeah akeem olajuwan would be another good player in today's league. even joel embiid is shooting 3s. yannis feels the need to shoot 3s.
it's better than ever tho imo, because the refs aren't rigged anymore. for decades the games were fixed. you could guarantee playoff games on national tv would go down to the last minute. it was comical. you knew when a team went up the fouls would start coming in on them
there's no way imo you could wager on that circus

Funny thing about it is Lavine has been catching flak lately from his teammates - god forbid the coach say anything - about his total lack of defensive effort. I didn't watch the game so I don't know how many of those possessions involved him but I'll take a wild guess he wasn't part of the solution.

It's not all bad (just mostly), they got rid of all those unnatural offensive moves that got players easy FTs. Young & Harden have suffered this terribly the past two seasons -it was implemented a couple summers ago. Take away those extra FTs and it's just a little bit harder for them to gain a rhythm.
The block/ charge is always the one that irritates me most... it's always a fuckin block foul.

I was going to mention that too.
They really curbed that wierd unnatural jump shot that was only an attempt to "draw a foul".
Not sure if the leads to more scoring though. Like you said, some have made a living off that and now they can't.
But the freedom of movement enforcement really changed things, for a while it was obvious.

NBA is a flashy 3 point shooting league now with no perimeter defense. Only a matter of time before someone scores a 100 points in a game via Wilt.
