what if the money was sitting in cash at ftx? like cash at charles schwab, coinbase, kraken, etc... you can have a balance in crypto, balance in cash...

if you had cash at ftx is it still your fault? what if it is cash at us bank and they turn out to be thieves? then is it your fault, or is that the bank's fault because it was us bank and not bankman-fried? what if there is no bank at all in the name?

That’s all this thread is is political. The people that are in here bitching are people that want to tie him to democrats, Clinton’s, etc. it’s the same song and dance
But in reality this is the situation, people involved with ftx invested in an unregulated crypto market with the hopes that these cryptos would blow up like they did in the past. With that kind of investment there’s high risk so in the end the high risk lost. It’s not shallow analysis it’s factual.

Yes you are correct it’s your fault. It takes literally 5 minutes maybe less to cash your money from a book to crypto to something else like your US bank, card, etc. Also why leave yourself to that vulnerability?
You also compared ftx to some regulated financial institutions which is different. Then my opinion would be different. But if you are dealing with crypto you are dealing with a risky financial instrument and there’s already been many examples of other corrupt Bitcoin establishments. This shouldn’t be a surprise. Next time get your head out of the covid conspiracy clouds and don’t let yourself get screwed over. It sucks but life is a risk and you didn’t prepare well
