every time I watched cheetahs on tv growing up running they never looked as fast as they say they are to me. guess their long stride makes them not look that fast to me or maybe those top speeds are for a very short time and they can't sustain them but for a very short time, but usain bolt didnt look that fast to me either seemed he wasnt trying as hard as he could maybe its just me

They are fast but they can't catch a true prize race horse.. 10 mph slower and that's with a jockey on top of them.

A regular fast horse it's close though! Grey hounds are way faster out of the blocks.

Dogs and horses know their purpose when trained up as such to only run and race.

I've seen documentaries on Alaska sled dogs, they don't want to be petted and loved, they just want to work and mush once out of their kennels. Same with hound dogs and other specific breeds with their specialized talents. Dogs are a trip.
