Man, I can't tell you all the places I've left my car after a night of drinking. I've always been quick to call a taxi or uber after a few drinks. I wouldn't even let my drunk friends drive.

All because I was visiting some friends in DC one weekend, where my buddy just bought a brand new Benz. We were in 2 cars but I was riding with him. He was driving like a mad man all night from club to club. We went to one club and they gave out Long Island Ice teas as a free drink for getting in. I know that one drink took me over the top and we were drinking before that. I quietly changed cars and drove with my other buddy because the other friend was already driving crazy. We get back to my friends house and was waiting for the other friend to arrive. 1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hours, 4 hours later another friend told us that he got pulled over for DUI and in jail. This was right after all the Mothers against drunk driving MADD shit. Long story short, they fined him $15k, impounded his car, kept him in jail for a day and a half until he was sober and he had to work 5,000 hours of community service. 5,000 hours. Are you fukking kidding me??? Where the hell did they come up with that? That would take 2 years if he was working full time. Hell, double my fine. I always think about 5,000 hours whenever I think about getting in a car after 1 drink.

Fukkkk, all for one moment of stupidity. That would suck hard. These BAC levels are so low now, it don't take a lot of drinks for most people.

Wreckless driving charge has been added to DUI resulting in death charge. More prison time.

He won't need to be making car payments for the Vette no more. His credit score dropped 300 points. No income and in debt at 22.

A crazy point of view is that if another NFL team had drafted Henry Ruggs before the Raiders. That victim would still be alive.

Sad for the family of the young lady. One poor decision can ruin many lives, perspective.

I just heard that the young lady also had her dog in the car that also perished in the fire.

                                      Ruggs is fukkked.

I really can't get over how stupid a decision he made here. The NFL has free pick up service for athletes. He could have had his girlfriend drive (if she wasn't drunk). One split minute decision to put the key in the ignition has killed a young lady, ruined her families life, ruined his life, most likely ruined all the family members he was supporting, devastated a Raiders organization that can't catch a break and he killed a dog as well.

That Vette has severe damage is more than likely totaled. If the frame is compromised, it won't be getting repaired. They'll total it and someone will buy it and part it out. The engine and tranny should have very low miles on it and worth a good bit.

From what I read, he rear ended the woman.

When he hit the brakes at a high speed, the front of the car dipped down quite a bit went and under the rear end of the SUV most likely hitting the gas tank. You can see there is no major damage to the rear hatch of the SUV, so the entire front end of his car went under her vehicle. Gas tank most likely got destroyed and the car burst into flames.

Ruggs was driving 156 MPH prior to the crash. BAC was twice the legal limit. The Corvette was going 127 when the airbags deployed. He's lucky that he is alive.

How to blow millions of dollars, get drunk and kill someone

Ruggs, who was selected by the Raiders with the No. 12 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, signed a four-year rookie deal worth $16.67 million with the team in July 2020. The contract was fully guaranteed, but Las Vegas will likely seek to void the remaining years

Las Vegas District Attorney Steve Wolfson revealed Wednesday the minimum and maximum sentences that Ruggs could be serving.
“The minimum would be two years,” Wolfson said. “The maximum would be 46. And that could increase, depending on whether we file an additional charge involving the gun.”
