#4Seen about a dozen videos with people's home with pipes broken and water spraying everywhere. Once it warms up, those poor people are going to have a Hell of a mess to deal with.Comment -

#31This is always amusing.
I know the southern states aren't used to these once in a generation type situations, but they happen in the Dakotas and MN all the time.
How truly soft we've become, but the fact is that it's the softness of society that's taken us here.
Darn near EVERY home in MN built before 1995 had a wood burning fireplace, I've got in my summer shack there, and you ALWAYS had 2 cords stacked outside.
Thats just how we grew up...
You had the wood, candles, the board games and a pair of snowshoes.
I bet there isn't a kid south of Missouri that knows ahow to split wood or snowshoe. And all I'm saying is that parents or the school should instruct them, for a week at least, on some of this stuff.
Can the average 18 yr old man change a tire?
...think about it, it's the pussyfucation of society.
When I ran FedEx Ground in South Dakota we missed 0 days in 3.5 years. That's a fleet of 30+ trucks
With the beer company we shut 1 day only because the fukkin beer was freezing and the bottles were popping lol, but everyone still made it to work despite no power and oh yeah...the office had 2 woodburning stoves.Comment -
