#564My guess is that it is a ransomware attack. I don't know how they are handling it. All sports books need to take heed and make sure they have backup/recovery plans. Furthermore, they need to actually test these regularly. Many years ago, I was responsible for a large mainframe data center. We spent tens of thousands of dollars annually to pay for a hot site (a data center 100 miles away full of equipment that sat idle waiting for a disastor). Three times a year, we would load up a few vans with 2 dozen technicians and computer operators, fetch recovery tapes from off site locations, and spend 2 days recovering our systems. When we returned, we would modify what we were doing to improve the process. It's not cheap or easy but necessary when your business's existance depends on these computer systems.
But enough of that. What should we customers learn from this. A few things come to mind. First, have multiple books for your wagers, and use each regulalry. Have funds at each, so you won't be sidelined by single failures. Finally, don't keep too much money at each site. Balancing funds between accounts is a pain, but so would be losing a lot at one. Hopefully BOL will recover soon and handle the onslaught of withdrawals tha will come soon.
Remember, bet with your head and not over it. Sports betting is entertainment. It's fun and addictive. Just don't pay too much for it.Comment -

#571These jerks had better not charge for withdrawals as soon as they are back up. I would bet 80% are going to take their money out of this scumbag company.Comment -
