#3yeah agree, what the fuk is VAR for. They are only suppose to be overturning calls that are clear and obvious, she was at most offside by a half an inch, that's not clear and obvious.Comment -

#5I rarely even watch soccer on TV anymore. VAR has completely ruined the game and has been used incorrectly ever since introduced. It was introduced to fix clear and obvious error, and instead it is just completely re-officiating the game.
They need to get rid of it. Unless of course, it gives the fix what they need.Comment -

#10Mark my words. In 5 years VAR would be history. It creates more controversy than solved. Both England's goals first half were bogus. First one the back pass was not intentional. It happens all the time in men leagues and they never call it. It has to be an intentional pass to the goalie to avoid moving the ball forward.
The second goal it was a judgement call on the offside. But then given the fact that the first goal was a ref error it shouldn't have counted. In football and baseball the refs and umpires make up calls all the time when a questionable call for a holding was given earlier or a ball was called a strike and vice versa.
Now the Cameroon goal was also a judgement call but since they were already fukked up already on 2 previous calls they should have been given the benefit of a doubt.Comment -

#12The ones I dont like are when they miss a foul in the penalty box and then go to VAR after the game has continued playing.Comment -

#13The problem isn't VAR its there is no clear standard for overturning plays. If the standard is what FIFA says it is, clear and obvious, you can't overturn plays every game for being offsides by 1 inch, which is what happened in the Cameroon game.Comment -

#21Goalie did not have possession of the ball. The only thing marginal there was a hand ball into the net which wasn't clear and obvious. That point of VAR is not being maintained at all. In fact, it is the complete opposite.Comment -

Here is how the rule is worded in FIFA Laws of the Game.

#31Every player has a right to the ball, the French player hit the ball when the goalie didn't have control - there was nothing even close to obvious about the call. Replay has its place for obvious calls, like if the ball crossed the goaline or not, quesitonable fouls shouldn't be reviewed unless they are clear and obvious, and that one wasn't even close to being an obvious foul.Comment -

#34Goalline technology is great but VAR has been a shit show, the main issue has been no one knows what a clear and obvious error is, they are consistently overturning 50/50 calls.Comment
